๐Ÿ“š Something Special for Book Week!ย ๐Ÿ“š

Today, our students from PP to Year 6 were captivated by Something Special!, a live theatre performance presented by Perform! Education as part of this year's Book Week celebrations.

Inspired by the 2026 Book Week theme, "Symphony of Stories", the performance engaged, educated and inspired our students through storytelling, creativity, music and laughter. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and enthusiastic participation as our children experienced the magic of stories brought to life on stage.

A big thank you to Perform! Education for providing such an entertaining and memorable experience for our students.ย

๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ Celebrating 180 Years of Mercy โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

To commemorate 180 years since the arrival of the Mercy Sisters in Australia, our students worked alongside their buddies to create a beautiful tiled mosaic artwork featuring hands forming a heart symbolising our school motto "Love One Another."

Each tile came together to create a powerful symbol of faith, kindness, compassion, and community, reflecting the Mercy values that continue to inspire us today.

Thank you to Mrs Bastow, Mrs Ewen, and Mrs Sadowski for coordinating this meaningful project and helping our students create something truly special.

๐Ÿ“š Book Week ๐Ÿ“š

What a wonderful day today celebrating Book Week at PCPS! Our school was filled with amazing costumes as students and staff brought their favourite book characters to life. From classic storybook favourites to contemporary heroes, the creativity on display was incredible.

We loved our Book Week Parade this morning, which showcased not only the fantastic costumes but also the wonderful books that inspired them. Most importantly, the event highlighted the joy of reading and the magic that books bring to our lives.

A huge thank you to our students, families, and staff for embracing the spirit of Book Week and helping to foster a love of reading throughout our school community. It was a fantastic celebration of imagination, creativity, and storytelling.

๐Ÿ“š Books truly have the power to inspire, educate, and transport us to new worlds. Happy Book Week, PCPS! ๐Ÿ“š

๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต One Big Voice ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต

Congratulations to all the students involved in One Big Voice. They were outstanding, and the school community is incredibly proud of their performance.

A sincere thank you goes to all parents for supporting the students throughout the rehearsal period and for attending the concert. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in a unique, uplifting, and confidence-building experience. The many lunchtime rehearsals certainly paid off, with students showcasing their talents and enthusiasm on stage.

A special congratulations to Isla T for her performance in the vocal group, Say What You Mean. Performing in front of such a large audience requires tremendous confidence, and Isla represented Padbury Catholic Primary School beautifully.

The school would also like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Poggioli, Mrs Wardrope, Mrs Chalmers, and Mrs Ge**er for their support and assistance throughout the preparation and performance process. Events such as these are only possible through the dedication and teamwork of staff working together behind the scenes.

A very special thank you is extended to Mrs Twine for her hard work, dedication, and countless hours of organisation to ensure Padbury Catholic Primary School could participate in this incredible event. Her commitment to providing students with memorable opportunities to develop their confidence, performance skills, and love of music is greatly appreciated. The success of the day was a reflection of her passion and leadership, and the school community is grateful for all she did to make the experience possible.

Thank you, Mrs Twine, for helping create such a memorable experience for our students. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต

Year 4 Holy Communion Retreat

The Year 4 students attended their Holy Communion Retreat at the Schoenstatt Shrine in Armadale. It was a long journey, and we were excited to discover what the day would have in store for us.

We were warmly welcomed by Sister Lisette, who made everyone feel loved and valued from the moment we arrived. Throughout the day, the students participated in a range of meaningful activities that helped them deepen their understanding of God's love and recognise just how precious they are to Jesus.

A sincere thank you to the parents who joined us and generously offered their assistance throughout the day. Your support was greatly appreciated and helped make the retreat a wonderful experience for all.

The retreat was a special opportunity for prayer, reflection, and preparation, and we are now looking forward with excitement to celebrating our First Holy Communion in the upcoming weeks.

๐Ÿ‰ Buddy Time โ€“ Derby Day Style! ๐Ÿ‰
Our Kindy to Year 3 buddies came together for a special Buddy Time with a Derby Day theme! Dressed proudly in their Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles colours, students enjoyed spending time with their buddies, sharing laughs, building friendships and showing off their team spirit.
It was wonderful to see our younger and older students connecting through fun activities. No matter which team they supported, the real winners were the friendships, kindness and sense of community on display throughout the day.๐Ÿ’œโš“๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ…

Mixed teams across year levels gave everyone the chance to connect, compete, and demonstrate wonderful sportsmanship.

Students also had fun wearing their favourite soccer jerseys, helping build excitement and pride as they cheered on the Socceroos during the World Cup!

๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ GRANDPARENTS' DAY IN YEAR 6! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

On the 29th of June, we, the amazing Year Sixes, celebrated Grandparentsโ€™ Day! This was an amazing day where we showed our grandparents all of the hard work we have completed this term. This work included biographies about one of our grandparents, artefact posters that represented something important to our family, suitcases where we imagined we migrated from another country and also family crests. After looking at displays in our classrooms, we went up to the hall to have a delicious morning tea and some people performed for the grandparents. All the grandparents loved this day; they felt really loved and special and we were so grateful to have them there.
