We invited families to read together, in English and in their home languages. We celebrated every child’s participation, creativity and joy as we experience the connections that books and stories bring.💛

On Educators’ Day we celebrated our educators and the wonderful role they play in shaping the children for the future.

At Nido Wembley we celebrated through refreshing our educators’ retreat, a wonderful shared lunch, flowering plants to grow, and gifts wrapped with wrapping paper the children designed and made for the educators.

Our families wrote appreciation messages to put on the Nido tree for everyone to see. Children have been drawing pictures of educators which we will be using in a display about educators’ personal philosophies.

Thank you to all educators for the love, care and education you give everyday.

💚We had a beautiful adventure at the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre. Kim from the Centre welcomed us and guided the children through engaging learning experiences.

🍃 Before setting off, the children shared our predictions and expectations about what we thought we might discover. We also talked about how to stay safe and respect the natural environment during our excursion.

🍃 Under the cool shade of Paperbark gums, we enjoyed stories, and learned Australian animals, plants and Aboriginal cultures. The children had the opportunity to scrunch eucalyptus gum leaves in their hands and smell their fresh scent.

🍃 We walked through the Paperbark forest and spotted so many incredible local animals, including ducks, a Tawny Frogmouth Splendid Tree frog, spiky caterpillars, coots, moorhens, night herons, fish, a lot of different plants, and pond weeds. 🦆 🐸 🐛 🐦 🐟 🌱

A big thank you to Miss Zam and our little helping hands. Our vegetable garden is ready to grow!💚

Creating our vegetable garden has been a wonderful hands-on learning experience. We were busy digging, scooping, planting, watering and caring for the garden. We also explored how plants grow, learned about plant life cycles, and where our food comes from.
