We were ‘All In’ while the Kindy children visited Bethanie House on their excursion. As part of Reconciliation Week, the children and residents coloured and drew big pieces of art! They will be hanging in both Bethanie House and in our Foyer. A lovely, bright collaboration!

This week we are ‘All In’ for Reconciliation Week. Educators have been speaking about Indigenous culture and language, and setting up a range of lovely activities to help explore this further.

From 27 May to 3 June, we come together to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.

Reconciliation starts with all of us, including our youngest learners. Through moments of curiosity, storytelling, music, art and connection, children begin to build understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.

Because every small conversation, shared experience and learning moment helps us to build towards a more inclusive future, together.

Road Safety week is off to a great start!

We have explored making our own traffic lights and what each colour means, as well as practicing crossing the road safely at the crossing!

The Kindy rooms have been looking at books about Safety on the road and in the water. They spoke about objects that help to keep us safe or others that could be a danger.

Sensory scarf fun!

The children have been excited about colours, so the educators set up a coloured scarf and water tray! The children got to explore the colours and spoke about how it felt cold, wet, heavy and funny in their hands.

They pretended it was grass, fire and different coloured water too. What a nice way to explore colour.

The Kindy children went on a Bear Hunt!

They explored the Bear hunt book and talked about the adventure, then the teachers made a special sensory tray to feel all the different textures and explore the book further.

The children explored how it felt in their hands, how it smelt and spoke about the book too.
