Habitat Early Learning Peregian Springs

Habitat Early Learning Peregian Springs In 2023, the stunning Sunshine Coast became home to Habitat's first Montessori-Exclusive service. Habitat Early Learning Nundah opened in 2020.

Fittingly, Habitat Early Learning grew from one family’s dream. In 2006, with the care and education of their own young children in mind, a local Queensland family had the idea of developing an early childhood education centre that offered an unparalleled experience. Their vision was realised in 2009 when Habitat Early Learning Ferny Grove, nestled against the tranquil backdrop of Cedar Creek, ope

ned its doors. A decade later, the search for a second location — possessing the beauty of the Ferny Grove setting — began. A stunning Nundah homestead with a heart-warming history soon caught their attention. In 2022, the stunning coastal backdrop of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast became home to the third service: Habitat Early Learning Peregian Springs. Taking cues from the contemporary landscape, the multi-storey, architecturally designed service will be Habitat’s first Montessori-exclusive learning centre. Happy staff, happy children, happy families

Science Week - Rainy Weather 🌧️

Today’s rainy weather provided the perfect inspiration for our Science Week experiment! Mary led an engaging discussion with the children about rain; where it comes from, how it forms, and how clouds are created.

The children were introduced to the water cycle and learned about evaporation, condensation and precipitation. After watching the experiment, each child had a turn adding the blue water, representing the rain, and seeing the process come to life.

It was a wonderful experience that encouraged curiosity, questions and lots of scientific thinking!

What a wonderful day we had with author, Chris Collin!

Today, our children had the fantastic opportunity to meet Chris, author of popular books including Funky Chicken. Chris shared his journey as an author, giving the children an insight into what it’s really like to create stories and bring ideas to life. He also talked about the important role of an illustrator and how words and pictures work together to make a book come alive.

A huge thank you to Chris for sharing his stories, experiences and passion for books with us. We hope his visit has inspired many of our young readers to dream big, get creative and perhaps even become authors or illustrators themselves one day!

Our new rock climbing wall is certainly a favourite!

Climbing has been a fun way for children to challenge themselves while building strength, balance, coordination, and confidence. It also encourages problem-solving, perseverance, and resilience as they work their way top!

Our Kindness Quilt is now complete! 💛

A heartfelt thank you to one of our wonderful parents, Elyse, for her support in bringing this meaningful project to life. Each contribution reflects the kindness, care, and sense of belonging that we nurture every day in our learning community.

This beautiful quilt is a special addition to our environment and serves as a lasting reminder that even small acts of kindness help create a caring and connected place for everyone.

Our children recently explored the gustatory sense through a hands-on sensorial activity.

As part of the Montessori Sensorial Curriculum, the children investigated their sense of taste by sampling foods representing the four basic tastes: sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. They carefully observed each flavour, compared their experiences, and used descriptive language to share what they noticed.

Gustatory activities help children refine their senses, expand their vocabulary, and develop greater awareness of the world around them. Through these meaningful, hands-on experiences, children strengthen their ability to observe, discriminate, and appreciate the rich variety of sensory experiences found in everyday life.

Our team recently participated in Responsible Persons Training; an important step in building confidence, accountability, and leadership within our service.

Investing in professional development helps empower our educators with the knowledge and skills to take on greater responsibility while creating a safe, supportive, and high-quality environment for children and families.

We're proud to support our team's growth and leadership journey in early childhood education. Every opportunity to learn strengthens our service and helps shape confident, capable leaders for the future.
