A lovely Old Collegian connection at this year’s Year 12 Boarders Retreat in Broomehill.

Old Collegian Sally House (Murray 2008), founder of SHF Pilates, swapped the studio for the Nardlah Shearing Shed to lead a Pilates class for PLC’s Year 12 Boarders.

Now living in Gnowangerup, Sally joined the girls during their annual retreat, which gives our Year 12 Boarders a chance to spend time together as they prepare for their final weeks in the Boarding House.

We loved seeing Sally share her passion with our current students and another great example of Old Collegians staying connected with PLC in all sorts of ways.

A wonderful Old Collegian connection for AFLW Indigenous Round 💙💛

Old Collegian and West Coast Eagles player Ella Slocombe (2023) returned to PLC this week to meet First Nations students who have designed nine pairs of footy boots to be worn by Eagles players this weekend.

Each pair has been created to share the students’ culture, stories and identity through art, with Ella proudly wearing one of the designs when the Eagles take on Melbourne on Sunday.

It was also a special opportunity for Ella to reconnect with students following their own football pathways, with seven of the students involved currently playing and several already part of development squads.

We love seeing Old Collegians return to PLC and connect with the next generation of students, particularly through a project that brings together culture, creativity and sport.

We’ll be looking out for Ella and the students’ designs on the field this weekend. 💙💛

Calling all PLC Chapel brides 💍

We know the Heather Barr Memorial Chapel holds so many special memories for our Old Collegians, and for some, that includes their wedding day.

Were you married in the PLC Chapel? We’d love you to share your wedding photos with us.

Post them in the comments along with the year you were married.

As part of Giving Day, we’re celebrating the stories and memories connected to the Chapel and Carmichael Hall, and we’d love to see just how many PLC weddings have taken place there over the years.

The PLC Foundation is calling on our community to come together today and dig deep for a place that has meant so much to generations of PLC students, families, staff, and Old Collegians.

Chair of the PLC Foundation, Alexandrea Thompson says, "Join the PLC Foundation and help restore Carmichael Hall and the Heather Barr Memorial Chapel.”

💙 GIVING DAY IS LIVE! 💙

Carmichael Hall means so many things to so many people.

Ballet lessons and school assemblies. Music exams on the grand piano. School plays, end-of-term concerts and socials with Scotch. Sweltering afternoons sitting exams and the unmistakable sound of students marching into assembly.

Some even remember sitting cross-legged on the floor of Carmichael Hall, watching Neil Armstrong take his first steps on the moon.

And when Carmichael Hall became home to the Heather Barr Memorial Chapel, new memories were added – weekly Chapel services, baptisms, weddings, memorials and moments of quiet reflection.

For generations, this special place has been part of the story of PLC. Now, we’re asking our community to come together to help secure its future.

Giving Day is officially LIVE and every donation will be DOUBLED thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our matching donors.

Our goal is $400,000. Together, we can restore Carmichael Hall and the Heather Barr Memorial Chapel for the generations still to come.

💙 Give now and follow the action as our community rallies together: https://www.charidy.com/plcperth
