🎉 Penrith CBD Toastmasters – Final Gathering of the Year! 🎉

Join us for our traditional end-of-year celebration as we wrap up 2025 together with good company, festive vibes, and a delicious breakfast.

(Just 50 metres down from our usual meeting room, same side of the street!)

We’ll be setting aside some of our usual formalities, but we will enjoy some fun, end-of-year-themed Table Topics as we celebrate one another’s achievements from the year.

Feel free to wear something Christmassy if you’re in the spirit! 🎄✨

We’ll also be seeing if we can squeeze a few dollars out of our esteemed Treasurer to help cover breakfast. 😉

We’d love to have you join us for this relaxed, social send-off to the year.

📆 Looking Ahead to 2026:
Our first meeting back will be Thursday 22 January, 7:15am at our usual venue.
From there, we return to our normal rhythm — 2nd & 4th Thursdays each month.

We might’ve had a smaller group this time, but we definitely didn’t hold back!

👏 Big congratulations to Anne, who not only chaired the meeting like a pro but also WON the Area-level Humorous Speech Contest! She’s now heading to District to make them laugh too!

🗣️ Linda delivered her first Table Topics session with a festive Christmas theme (yep, we’re already jingling bells 🎄), and Natalie gave us the word of the day: “Persevere,” something we all needed pre-coffee!

💡 Greg gave a heartfelt and hilarious speech titled “Welcome to the Dad Zone” (complete with baby wipes and wisdom), and Snehin broke down Toastmasters Pathways with a clear, helpful tutorial.

🌟 Penrith CBD Toastmasters Meeting Report — 9th October 2025 🌟

We had 9 enthusiastic participants at our meeting this morning — a lively and supportive start to the day! ☀️

Meeting Highlights:
🥂 Shelley proposed a heartfelt Toast to the family bonding opportunities that school holidays bring.
💡 Snehin introduced “catalyst” as our Word of the Day — an intriguing choice that sparked some thought (and made a couple of appearances in speeches!).
📚 Natalie delivered a creative set of Table Topics around the theme of books and literature. Special mention to Kylie, who gave an extended impromptu response as part of her preparation for next week’s Area Table Topics Contest — well done and good luck, Kylie! 🙌

🎤 Prepared Speeches:
✨ Linda presented her Icebreaker titled “Putting On My Big Girl Pants” — a fabulous first speech full of humour and personal insight. Congratulations, Linda, on taking that big first step! 👏
😂 Anne showcased a reworked version of her humorous speech, “Worst Gigs Ever: Wedding Edition.” It’s gone from good to great — and we can’t wait to see her shine at the Area Humorous Speech Contest next week. Go for gold, Anne! 🏆

👏 Evaluations and roles were handled capably, with members stepping up at the last moment to fill key tasks — a true example of the teamwork and support that makes our club thrive.

We’ll be back bright and early on Thursday, 23rd October for our next meeting — come join us for another dose of fun, learning, and laughter! 🌞

What a fun and flexible morning! A smaller group than usual, but plenty of laughs, learning, and memorable moments.

👏 We were so excited to officially welcome Kayley and Kylie as new members – welcome to the club!

With a couple of last-minute changes, members stepped up and covered roles beautifully. That’s the magic of Toastmasters – building confidence to adapt on the spot. 💪

✈️ Table Topics took us around the world with a stack of travel brochures – some stories were true, others not so much… but all entertaining!
🎤 Kayley delivered her Icebreaker speech – such a great start to her journey.
🌍 Shelley shared a family adventure through Europe (complete with escape rooms and kid wrangling).
🕒 Sarah kicked us off on time as Sergeant at Arms before jumping in as Chair.
💬 Anne gave a thoughtful Acknowledgement of Country.
✨ Word of the Day: Flabbergasted – which popped up in a few speeches!

🌟 What a morning at Penrith CBD Toastmasters! 🌟
Thursday’s meeting (28 August) may have been small in numbers, but we were bursting with zeal — literally! (Our word of the day made it into conversation 6 times 🙌)

Here’s what went down:

🛫 Anne gave a brilliant toast to the long-awaited Badgerys Creek Airport — complete with cows and a brand-new M12!
🎲 Kylie ran a super creative Table Topics session with everyday objects that weren’t what they seemed… A torch became a spy gadget, a pencil became a weapon, and a fan? A paddle!

👏 Big shoutout to Linda and Kayley for stepping up and having fun with it!

🎓 Greg and Mark gave thoughtful evaluations, and Mark’s education session, “Evaluate to Motivate,” inspired us all to give better, more empowering feedback.

✅ We wrapped up by evaluating Mark’s session live — putting his tips straight into action.

We had a vibrant and inspiring meeting on Thursday 14 August, with 12 attendees, including 3 guests and our Area Director Punya!

🎲 Greg’s quirky “Chatterbox” Table Topics had us creatively connecting spies, potatoes, and footballers!

We had a great time this week promoting Penrith CBD Toastmasters Club to the local business community in Penrith, thanks to our friends at the Penrith CBD Corporation. Thank you to members Shelley, Mark and Greg who contributed to our demo, and the brave volunteers from the crowd who gave it a go. Hopefully we will be welcoming a few guests if not members to our next meeting on the 14th August! 😀

Our Thursday crew brought the energy, the honesty, and a touch of hilarity to Penrith CBD Toastmasters. 😄

We kicked off with a thoughtful Acknowledgement of Country and a warm presidential welcome from Greg, then Dean took the mic as Chair and reminded us why leading a meeting is basically confidence training in disguise. 💼

The word of the day? Resilience.
The theme of the day? Couldn’t have been more fitting. 💪

Highlights:
🎭 Table Topics by Anne: combine an object with an emotion and make it work. Trombone + envy? Tacos + confusion? Yes, we went there.
🎙 Jai’s “Three Laws of Loose Motion” is honest, personal, and inspiring
🧠 Dean’s reflection on life’s mental health phases—before, during & after the big moments

Thanks to everyone who brought their spark. Toastmasters is where we build connection, courage, and a killer morning routine.
