⚠️ Content warning: Child abuse.
As part of National Child Protection Week, the AFP has today released four new images under the ‘Stop Child Abuse – Trace an Object’ initiative, in the hope of solving child sexual abuse cold cases. Investigators are hoping you may have the missing clue that could help crack cases and potentially remove vulnerable children from harm.
Stop Child Abuse – Trace an Object was launched on 3 March, 2021. As at 30 August 2023, 192 782 people have visited the ACCCE related webpages, resulting in 908 tip-offs to the AFP.
The public can view the images and make a report by visiting www.accce.gov.au/trace

We don't know how many times this has to be told. No educators should be left alone with children. This is to safeguard both the vulnerable children and the educator. We are constantly reminding services and educators just how important this is. Just because a Working With Children Check has been done doesn't mean an educator has never done the wrong thing. The Child Safe Standards is the start for services to really look at all areas of their services that may be unsafe. Having educators alone with children is unsafe. We send all our sincere wishes that the support required to all of these young girls, some who are now over 18yrs is ongoing to assist them to live as best as they can.

Relaxing before we head on back home to Sydney after another eventful visit to our wonderful educators at Brewarrina Aboriginal Child and Family Centre . Friday night spent finalising three units of the CHC30121, so proud. We left some special visitors with them to allow their First Aid to be completed. So hard for these remote organisations to have resources such as defibrillators and manicans. We laughed as we wondered what airport security thought seeing a baby and half a body in our suitcase. Feeling so privileged to be able to support the educators in this remote community to enable them to deliver the best of care to their children.

Did you see Parental Guidance last night?
Experts from the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation worked closely with the producers of Parental Guidance for months, to develop an online gaming scenario that highlight the challenges children face online.
The episode featured tips from senior child protection specialist Detective Superintendent Jayne Crossling, appearing as the show’s first ever in-studio guest.
For resources to help tackle the challenges of talking to children about being safe online, check out our website or speak to your school about having a presentation.
