Recipe of the Week: Tomato & Basil Galette πŸ…πŸ§€βœ¨

During Week 3 of Term, we got creative in the kitchen with this delicious Tomato & Basil Galette! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸ₯ The children loved getting hands-on with the ingredients, from preparing the tomatoes to assembling the pastry and creating their own rustic galette.

With creamy ricotta, juicy roasted tomatoes, fresh basil and golden, flaky pastry, this recipe was a savoury success! πŸ˜‹πŸ… It was also a great opportunity for the children to build confidence in the kitchen, practise new skills and enjoy creating something together.

Save this recipe for your next family baking day and give it a try at home! πŸ’›πŸ‘‡

Another wonderful week at Pennant Hills BASC!

What a fun-filled week it's been! Our children have loved getting creative through painting and cooking, showing off their teamwork during volleyball, and expressing themselves in our Dance and Drama Clubs. There was also plenty of time for outdoor adventures on the asphalt and playground, with lots of smiles, laughter and friendships made along the way. πŸ₯°

Thank you to all of our wonderful families for another fantastic week. We hope you all have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable weekend! β˜€οΈ

🦺 A friendly reminder that next week is Safety Week at BASC. Throughout the week, children and educators will participate in our Lockdown and Evacuation Drills to help build confidence and familiarity with our emergency procedures.

See you all next week! πŸ’™

Children have the right to be safe, no matter where they are. – UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

🦺 Safety Week is happening next week at Pennant Hills BASC!

Throughout the week, children and educators will be practising our emergency procedures to help everyone feel confident and prepared in the event of a real emergency.

Our scheduled emergency drills are:
🟑 Lockdown Drill: Tuesday afternoon
πŸ”΄ Evacuation Drill: Thursday morning

We kindly ask our BASC community for your patience, respect, and understanding while these important drills are taking place.
Please note that during the drills:
β€’ There may be delays when signing your child in or out.
β€’ Our phone may not be answered.
β€’ Please allow a little extra time for drop-off and pick-up.

πŸšͺ If an emergency drill is in progress, a sign will be displayed at the BASC main entrance. During this time, we will be unable to:
β€’ Grant entry to the service.
β€’ Facilitate child drop-offs or pick-ups.
β€’ Answer phone calls.

These practice drills are conducted in a calm, age-appropriate manner, with educators supporting and reassuring children throughout the process. Regular practice helps children become familiar with our emergency procedures and contributes to a safe and prepared learning environment for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep our BASC community safe. πŸ’™

Recipe of the Week: Gluten Free Lemon Yoyos πŸ‹βœ¨
During Week 2 of Term, we tried this delicious Gluten Free Lemon Yoyo recipe with the children and they absolutely loved it! While we had a few little hiccups during the activity, it all ended well and turned out to be a sweet success. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

These biscuits are light, zesty, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious; plus being gluten-free means even more of our BASC family can enjoy them!

Save this post for your next baking day, and let us know if you give it a try at home! πŸ’›πŸ‘‡
