We had a blast at the Pennant Hills Public School Centenary Picnic Day! Our fabulous carers ran a slime making stall, which is a regular activity we do during after school care that the kids love and are always asking for! Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun this weekend

Here's a little recap of our very successful Spring vacation care at BASC🌷🐣
We had two very exciting excursions to Sydney Zoo and Zone Bowling, as well as incursions like the baby animal petting zoo, builtopia and wheelchair sports! We also had lots of fun with our themed days involving super cool activities and DIYS keeping us energised and creative all day.

Dearest BASC families,
I’ve spent the last few months considering how I might approach all of my goodbyes and how to best sum up the last 6 years spent working here. It’s an impossible task but I think it would be suffice to say that this place has always felt more like a home than a workplace. The passion of my leaders when I started pushed me to become passionate about what I did here, and I’m so encouraged to see that passion continuing in the team today! I have no doubt that this will persist well into the future.
To my beautiful team, I want to thank you all for making my time here feel so worth it. Getting to laugh and commiserate and play alongside you all has meant the world to me. Your support, particularly as I learned this more recent leadership role, has made me better and so deeply grateful to you all.
To the wonderful families, I want to thank you for trusting us with your beautiful kids. Caring for them has been one of the greatest honours of my life and I will miss them more than I could ever tell you. They are all so precious. Please don’t let them forget me 🥲
As for my next steps, I’m heading off travelling for the rest of the year!! Following that, I’ll be returning to study my Masters in Speech Pathology (specialising in paediatrics of course).
I’ll be having a lot of (very tearful) goodbyes over the next couple of weeks so please come say bye if you have a moment 🥰
Thanks for everything and I’ll miss you all very much.
Lots of love,
Chloe ❤️

A Great Start to 2025 at BASC!
We’ve had an amazing start to the year as we warmly welcomed our Kindies, they have settled in beautifully! It’s been wonderful watching them explore and create through all the fun activities we’ve been enjoying at BASC, sandpit, marble tracks and the yellow equipment have been especially popular.
Here’s a glimpse of some of our other program highlights:
✨ Mat play and gymnastics outside the new building!
✨ Clay creations and exploring polymer clay and air dry clay to make beautiful works of art
✨ Potion making, in particular crafting fragrances and perfumes with materials from our rich natural environment.
✨ Cricket has been a hit with all age groups for summer!
✨ New building free play in the toy kitchen.
✨ Watercolour painting, experimenting with paper, wood, coasters, and different mediums to expand techniques.
✨ Stem challenges such as tallest tower challenges, paddle pop stick bridges and spaghetti marshmallow challenges.
It’s been a great few weeks, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings as we continue to expand on aspects of children’s play they have already shown engagement with. Thank you to our wonderful carers and families for making this such a smooth start! 🌟

🌟 PHBASC PHILOSOPHY UPDATE! 🌟
We’re thrilled to share that our updated philosophy is now proudly displayed both outside on our front doors and framed indoors in the main room! 🎉
A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful staff, children, and parents who contributed to the philosophy update through surveys and meetings. Your input has been invaluable, and we are so grateful for the time and energy you’ve dedicated to shaping our vision. 🙏
We used your feedback from the 2024 survey, along with the insightful post-it notes curated during one of our monthly staff meetings, to create a philosophy that truly reflects our community. 🌱
Thank you again, PHBASC community, for making this a collaborative effort. We’re excited to continue growing together! 💛

In the last couple of weeks, Saurubh Malviya visited Pennant Hills Before & After School Care in Sydney for a workshop on Understanding Children's Behaviour. This service holds a special place in our hearts as it was one of the first we worked with back in 2019, marking the beginning of our journey in Sydney. After making numerous connections over the past five years, we're so glad to be back where it all started! 😊
This week, Saurubh headed to Canberra to visit National Outside School Hours Services Alliance for a multi-service professional development session. It was awesome to see so many dedicated educators from the organisation coming together to learn and grow. 🤝
He also had the pleasure of visiting OSHClub JAG for an enriching professional development session. Travelling and meeting with passionate educators across different locations is one of the highlights of his role.
He got to reconnect with his friends at St Martin's OSHC CEEC for a session on Behaviour Engagement and Trauma-Informed Practices. It was a rewarding experience to engage with the educators there and explore effective strategies to support children's development.
We truly enjoy the opportunity to work with such committed individuals and value the connections made along the way. 🧡

Below is a message from Keean for you all:
Hey Everyone,
It is with great sadness and excitement that I announce I will be finishing up my time at BASC on Thursday 15th August next week.
BASC has been such an important part of my young adult life and I am so grateful for the last 4 and a half years! I am so thankful to be a part of something so special!
It has been such a joy to see each child learn and grow over the years! So many days filled with joy and laughter that I will never forget! I will miss this place, these children and this community so much!
Thank you all for making this community so wonderful to be a part of and thank you to the children for making BASC the lively and joyous place that it is!
Peace,
Keean
