Welcome to the Goodstart Penfield family! This page is a family-friendly community page where we can come together and share our interest in, and passion for, early childhood learning and care. While we are very excited to hear from you, please be aware that we reserve the right to moderate this page as we see fit and remove any posts or materials that we deem inappropriate or not beneficial to the wider community. This includes but is not limited to posts that are:

🩺 Child Health Development Checks at Goodstart Penfield 🩺

We are excited to be hosting Child Health Development Checks at our centre on Thursday 15th October.

These free checks are a wonderful opportunity for families to monitor their child's growth, development, health, and wellbeing with qualified Child and Family Health Nurses.

💛 Starting childcare soon? Don’t forget your CCS!

There can be lots to organise before your child’s first day at early learning, and one thing you don’t want to leave until the last minute is your Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

CCS can help eligible families with the cost of approved childcare, so getting your application started early can help make the transition into care a little smoother.

✨ A few things to check before your child starts:

📌 Make sure you have your Centrelink CRN and your child’s CRN ready.

📌 Check that your names, dates of birth and other details match the information Centrelink has on file.

📌 Once your childcare service submits the enrolment, keep an eye on your myGov/Centrelink account, as you may need to confirm the enrolment.

📌 Remember that CCS can cover up to 42 allowable absence days per child, per financial year, subject to the CCS rules.

💡 Our tip: Start your CCS application as early as possible. If your enrolment and CCS details aren't finalised, you may initially see a higher fee until everything has been processed.

If you're unsure about your CCS, don't be afraid to ask your childcare service for help with the information they need from you. Getting those little admin jobs sorted before Day One can make starting childcare feel much easier! 🌿

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

We’re officially a Flying Start Partner!

Beginning in Term 1 2027, we’re excited to be partnering with the South Australian Government to offer Flying Start 3-year-old Preschool.

3-year-old Preschool builds strong foundations for our little people to learn, grow and thrive through teacher-led, play-based learning, and extra support where it matters most.

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for our Flying Start Parent Information Night, that was held last week here a Penfield. It was wonderful to see so many families engaged in learning more about how we support children's transition to school and build strong foundations for future success.
