It is a great privilege that our students at Marist College have access to such a talented and generous network of Old Boys who are willing to take time out of their day to share their knowledge and wisdom.

This week we have been visited by Michael Briguglio (Class of '09) from Palo Alto Networks and Mark Ratcliff (Class of '99) from BMR Tax Advisory to speak to groups of Year 12 students about Career Pathways, tax, online cyber security, investments and to provide insights into what life is like when they leave the walls of MCC

Both men spoke fondly of their time at Marist and how the network of friends still benefits, supports and encourages them decades after they have graduated. Our Year 12 students, who are only 8 weeks away from graduating, really appreciated the insights, honesty and valuable advice from both Michael and Mark.

YEAR 12 - The ATO School Leaver Program applications open on 12 August!

"If uni’s not for you, come work with us! If you're a 2025 or 2026 Year 12 graduate ready to launch your career, the ATO School Leaver Program is for you.

In the 12-month program, you'll get:

* full-time work with practical, hands-on work experience
* a competitive starting salary of $58,608, plus 15.4% super
* a pay rise to $66,274 plus 15.4% super on successful completion – * as an APS 2 officer, you could earn up to $73,452, plus 15.4% super
* a Certificate III in IT or Business, with one day a week dedicated to study
* healthy working hours, flexible work arrangements, generous leave, and support for your physical and mental wellbeing."

OPPORTUNITY:
Kanga Interiors are looking for students interested in a carpentry apprenticeship, either full time or an ASBA.

If you would like to undertake some WEX, send me an email and I can pass along Ben's number and you can get in touch.

Remember: you must have completed your White card/Asbestos Awareness/ Silica Exposure courses to undertake WEX on a construction site. (These are offered at MBA Fyshwick every fortnight and if you call them directly they can provide you with a student discount.)
