This morning, our Year 5 and 6 students led the Solemnity Mass for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with reverence, confidence and grace.

Congratulations to Cartia, Lucas, Leo and Liam, who recently represented the Torrens River District at the SAPSASA Soccer Carnival.

A special congratulations to Lucas, Leo and Liam, whose boys’ team had a fantastic carnival and won the competition! 🏆👏

On Friday, our school community gathered to celebrate the Solemnity of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, hosted by our Year 3 and 4 students.

Through prayer, song and the sharing of heartfelt intentions, we remembered those experiencing homelessness, those who are sick or lonely, and all those in need of God's love and care. Inspired by Mary MacKillop's words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," we are called to live with compassion, kindness and faith each day 💛💙

A day where acknowledge the dedication, compassion and commitment that Principals bring to our school communities, and the lasting impact they have on the learning and lives of every child in our Catholic schools!

Yesterday at our School Assembly, we awarded these students for their continuous great work in and out of the classrooms, as well as demonstrating the key values in which make our school community a better place.

The following awards were presented to the following students:

St Mary MacKillop Award [for Perseverance and Service] - Millie
Millie is a responsible student always following the rules and who accepts praise for her work with a nod and a huge smile.

St Mary Award [for Faith and Humility] - Grace
Grace consistently demonstrates responsibility in the classroom and out in the yard towards her friends. She seeks help when needed and cares for the needs of others.

St Anthony Award [for Wisdom and Generosity] - Lukas
Lukas is consistently curious and displays an inquisitive mind in wanting to know about our world and how things work.

St Joseph Award [for Integrity and Dedication] - Connor
Connor constantly demonstrates integrity, dedication, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. He is always willing to help fellow students with their learning, offering assistance kindly and without seeking recognition.

What a fantastic day at the South Australian Catholic Primary Schools Cross Country Carnival! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

On the 5th of August, 57 students proudly represented St Josephs Payneham, demonstrating courage, perseverance and school spirit. We are thrilled that every student completed their race, an achievement they should all be very proud of.

Thank you to the students who attended training sessions and put in the extra effort leading up to the carnival. Your commitment and determination helped make today such a success.

Our Year 6AM scientists kicked off their Chemical Sciences unit by becoming “Change Detectives!” Students investigated a range of everyday material changes, observed what happened, and worked together to classify each change as reversible or irreversible. From melting chocolate to dissolving different substances, students used their curiosity, critical thinking and scientific reasoning to explain their observations. It was a fun, hands-on start to a term of inquiry, discovery and scientific exploration!
