Meet the Board | Fiona Walters - Central Coast Director.
We're so pleased to welcome Fiona Walters to the NSW P&C Federation Board as our new Central Coast Director!
Fiona joins us from Kariong Public School P&C Assoc., where she serves as Treasurer. She came to the Federation as a delegate, and when the opportunity arose to represent the Central Coast at board level, she put her hand up - and we're really glad she did.
Fiona is passionate about public education and the difference a strong P&C makes - not just in what it delivers for students, but in how it brings families together and makes a school community feel like exactly that. A community. For her, it's about making sure every family feels welcome and has a real opportunity to be involved, not just those who've been around the longest.
Her family is still in the early years of the public school journey, but her time as P&C Treasurer has already shown her what's possible when people show up, work together, and commit to something bigger than themselves.
Welcome to the board Fiona - the Central Coast is in great hands!
If you would like to nominate to support Fiona, as the one of two delegates needed for the Central Coast electorate, please head to www.pandc.org.au/by-elections.

Meet the Board | Introducing Nathan Godfrey - our Far North Coast Director
If you know anything about small schools, you know they run on community. And Nathan Godfrey is exactly the kind of person who makes that possible.
Nathan is a parent and P&C President on the Far North Coast, where P&C involvement isn't just valued, it's vital.
Outside of school, Nathan is well and truly rooted in his local community through emergency services, local organisations, and event coordination. That hands-on experience shapes the way he approaches his role on the P&C Federation NSW Board - practical, grounded, and focused on what actually makes a difference for families.
Advocacy and inclusion sit at the heart of everything he does. He believes every family deserves a voice, and every child deserves to feel they belong - no matter where they live or what their background is.
As the Far North Coast has not been represented on our Board for some time, we are very pleased to welcome Nathan and look forward to having the voices of Far North Coast families represented at the Board table once again. π
If you would like to nominate to support Nathan, as the one of two delegates needed for the Far North Coast electorate, please head to www.pandc.org.au/by-elections.

Today is National Public Education Day π
A day to celebrate the public schools that shape our communities - the classrooms, the teachers, the canteens, the P&C stalls, and everything in between.
Public primary and high schools are where friendships are formed, potential is unlocked, and futures are built. And behind every great public school is a community that shows up - parents, carers, and citizens who give their time because they believe every child deserves the best possible start.
Here's to our public schools. Here's to the kids in them. And here's to every volunteer who makes them stronger. π Proud to be public!

Meet the Board | Katherine Kirk β North West Sydney Director & Board Secretary
If youβve spent time around a P&C, community group, sporting club or local event in the Hills District in Sydney, chances are youβve crossed paths with Katherine Kirk.
A mum of five and long-time community volunteer, Katherine first became involved in P&Cs in 2008 and has spent years supporting public schools and local organisations through practical, hands-on work that often happens quietly behind the scenes.
Over the past 18 years, she has built extensive grassroots P&C experience through executive leadership, advocacy, fundraising, event coordination and community engagement across multiple school communities.
Her P&C journey includes leadership roles such as President of Castle Hill High School P&C Association and Vice President at Northmead Creative & Performing Arts P&C . From fundraising and advocacy to supporting school events and building connections within the community, Katherine is passionate about making sure families feel welcomed, heard and included.
Outside of school communities, Katherine also volunteers with the Castle Hill & District RSL Sub-Branch supporting veterans and their families, contributes to local sporting organisations including Hills Spirit FC, and regularly supports local community initiatives and charities across the Hills.
In recognition of her community contribution, Katherine was named Hills Shire Citizen of the Year in 2025 and NSW Local Woman of the Year for the Castle Hill electorate in 2026.
As North West Director and Board Secretary, Katherine brings strong community knowledge, practical experience and a genuine passion for public education to the Federation Board.
Weβre pleased to have her as part of the team.
