We know this week is a busy one for P&Cs with Father's Day breakfasts and stalls across the state. There will be some very special memories made and smiles on the faces of our dads as they are celebrated. We thought we would share some of the snaps we have seen in our members’ posts of the celebrations they have been having for the fathers in their local school communities.

Our final word is from our Board President, Darin McLean (Happy Father’s Day Darin!) - “For me, Father's Day is about dedicating distraction-free time with my family. It could be going to an event we all enjoy or supporting from the sidelines at my kids' sport. That time goes fast, and you can't get it back, so I try to make sure it counts. Seeing all these celebrations from P&Cs across the state is a great reminder of how much our school communities care about their Dads.”

What a way to start a week! The 2026 Regional Roadshows have kicked off in style with our Federation team visiting the North Coast, Mid North Coast and New England regions. With great hosts across all sites and plenty of enthusiasm, it has left our Federation team feeling excited about the next stops ahead on our Roadshows and Meetups. Nothing fills the cup more than our members engaging, connecting and collaborating. We look forward to hearing more from our P&C Association members in the weeks and months to come about the ongoing benefits that have come from these Roadshow events. The quality of the work being done by P&Cs across NSW is evident, and the heart of our volunteers is immeasurable.

Thank you to our wonderful host schools: Wollongbar Public School, Narranga Public School and Glen Innes Public School and their supportive P&Cs (Wollongbar P&C, Narranga Public P&C and Glen Innes P&C).

Special mention should also go out to our hard-working Directors across these wonderful regions - Nathan Godfrey, Tammi Fenwick and Leanne Eastwood, as well as Lucy McDermid who attended as the Delegate for the North Coast Electorate.

What a fantastic evening! Our inaugural Metro Meetup was held last night in North West Sydney and it was wonderful to see so many P&C and school community representatives.

Our P&C Federation team opened the event and from there, the room came alive with great conversation and engagement. It was heartening to hear so many passionate voices share ideas and insights into what is happening in their own schools and P&C’s.

Through collaboration and connection, we can continue to strengthen the voice of parents and carers across NSW public schools.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event, with special recognition to the wonderful Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School hospitality students (we are still talking about the incredible catering) as well as their supportive Principal Ms. Narelle Vazquez and Deputy Principal Years 9 & 10 Ms. Maria Scott.

Northmead Creative & Performing Arts P&C - what a team! You have set a high benchmark for being such wonderful hosts!

Many thanks also go to our special guests, including Dr Michelle Byrne - Mayor of the Hills Shire Council, Mark Hodges - Member for Castle Hill and Donna Davis MP.

Keep an eye out for more Metro Meetups coming soon!

A busy day at Parliament House in Canberra yesterday for NSW P&C Federation Macarthur Director Jodie Hazell and Secretary and North West Sydney Director Katherine Kirk.

Jodie and Katherine attended the launch of Classroom Management: The Foundation for Learning with Dr Tim McDonald, where Dr Jenny Donovan, CEO of the Australian Education Research Organisation, also shared her insights as part of the conversation.

With Parliament sitting, there was plenty happening and it was a great opportunity to connect, listen and ensure the parent and carer voice was part of the discussion around classroom management, teaching and learning.

Thank you to Oxford University Press for the invitation and for including NSW P&C Federation in the conversation.

Yesterday, NSW P&C Federation Interim CEO Tim Spencer and Secretary and North West Sydney Director Katherine Kirk, welcomed the opportunity to present a workshop at the Metropolitan North Directorate Principals Conference.

The workshop opened up a valuable two-way conversation about how schools, families and P&Cs can work together to break down barriers to inclusion, strengthen parent and carer participation in school communities and help ensure every student and family feels they belong.

Thank you to Cathy Brennan, Executive Director, Metropolitan North Directorate, for the opportunity to bring a parent and carer perspective to the conference and engage directly with school leaders.

We also thank the principals who joined our workshop and contributed so openly to the discussion. These conversations are an important part of building stronger partnerships between schools, families and P&Cs.
