Congratulations to Kyla on her mention in Parliament

Mr PHILIP DONATO (Orange)β€”Mr Speaker, I wish to commend one of the younger members of my
electorate on an outstanding achievement on a national stage. The Canobolas High School's Kyla Prinsloo
performed with excellence at the WorldSkills Australia competition held in Brisbane in June, placing an amazing
fourth in the VETiS Augmented Reality Welding competition, earning her a Medallion of Excellence. Studying
in year 12, Kyla, representing NSW, impressed the judges with her outstanding skill, focus and determination in
utilizing the expertise she has learnt through her Vocational Education and Training tuition. To place fourth
nationally, Kyla showed amazing hand-eye coordination, patience and accuracy within the pressure of an exam-
like situation. The VETiS AR welding competition was run in conjunction with Weld Australia and tested students
in welding using the Soldamatic AR Virtual Welder. This tested competitors' understanding of welding procedures
and techniques using a more interactive training method, gaining hands-on experience in a controlled, safe
environment. The Canobolas High School and VET are proud of Kyla's achievement as am I and I congratulate
her on her wonderful performance in a field which is crying out for the skills she is mastering.
