Macarthur Girls High School

Macarthur Girls High School The official page for Macarthur Girls High School, located in Parramatta. The school was built in 1934 and now welcomes over 1000 students.

Macarthur Girls High School is situated on the Parramatta River next to Parramatta City. The school was founded in 1934 on a parcel of land which was part of the second oldest land grant in Australia. The land was given to William Reid, a sailor on the Sirius, the first ship of the First Fleet to enter Sydney Harbour in 1788. The land was later given to the Reverend Samuel Marsden who built the st

ately home, Newlands, on this site. The school was built in 1934 with later additions in 1955 and 1975. Our purpose is to encourage and empower students to achieve their potential, to be confident and competent users of technology with a positive yet critical attitude towards future developments. We offer students a curriculum directed towards the Higher School Certificate with a combination of traditional and Vocational Education courses, ensuring that the needs and interests of all students are well met. Across all of these courses the development and application of computer and other technologies are integrated.

Last Wednesday our dance and drama ensembles and music students represented the school at a Regional Showcase at Riverside. Students thrilled the audience with their engaging performances - they made us all so proud to Macarthur Girls. Thanks also to Ms Lawton for her work with dance and drama and Ms Moore, for her work with the choir

It's Jersey Day at Macarthur Girls High School! Today, our students and staff are proudly wearing their favourite sporting jerseys to raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Jersey Day is a national event encouraging everyone to start conversations about becoming a registered organ and tissue donor. By wearing a jersey, our school community shows support for the cause and highlights how a simple decision can help save lives.

We are proud to join thousands of Australians in making a difference. Don’t forget to talk to your family and friends today about organ donation.

This week, Macarthur Girls High School will be celebrating our support staff. Our school support staff are the backbone of our school. They create calm and well-organised front offices, provide essential one-on-one support in classrooms and to teaching staff, keep school grounds safe and welcoming, and build trusted relationships with families and communities. While their work is often behind the scenes, their impact is deeply felt across every part of school life.
