Proposed Australian Visa Changes for September 2026

The Government is reportedly considering the following changes:

1. Students will no be able to apply for student visa extension onshore
2. ⁠Bachelors and Masters student will not be able to downgrade to lower AQF level study (nothing on parallel study as of yet)
3. ⁠Students will no longer be able to bring their partners on a dependant visa until unless they are enrolled in Masters by Research or doctorate
4. ⁠Visitor Visa duration will be cut down from 12 months to 6 months
