Week 1: Foundations of Voiceover - Introduction to Voiceover: Understanding the industry and its various applications. - Vocal Warm-ups and Exercises: Techniques to prepare your voice for recording. - Exploring Voice Control: Emphasis on tone, pitch, pace, and articulation. - Script Analysis: Breaking down scripts to understand intent and message delivery. Week 2: Advanced Techniques in Voiceover - Character Development: Bringing scripts to life through character creation and portrayal. - Emotion and Inflection: Conveying emotions effectively through voice. - Breathing and Pacing: Mastering breath control and maintaining consistent pacing. - Microphone Technique: Understanding microphone placement and optimal recording techniques. Week 3: Professional Studio Experience - Studio Etiquette: Understanding professional conduct in a recording studio environment. - Directing and Feedback: Receiving direction from a sound engineer and adapting performance accordingly. - Hard Sell vs. Soft Sell: Differentiating between persuasive and subtle advertising approaches. - Live Recording Session: Each student records a hard sell and a soft sell voiceover under professional guidance. Week 3 will have students record their voiceovers in a sound studio in Mudgeeraba with Vic Kaspar, Vic has over 110 professional credits working in the Sound Department on many productions including Thirteen Lives, God’s Favourite Idiot, The Wilds, Love in Bloom, Troppo, The Bureau of Magical Things plus many, many more.
