Member Nerida and her family celebrated a wonderful milestone: her father Keith's 90th birthday! They joined us in the Bistro; chosen for its nostalgic factor and history when Keith once taught lectures at the University.
"I just wanted to pass on my sincere thank you for a really lovely experience for my fathers 90th birthday. The quiet and gentle ambiance was just what we needed to enjoy each other's company. The food and wine were also very delicious and catered to everyone's needs. Importantly the venue is easy to access for someone with limited mobility. Thank you for all your help!"

Guests enjoyed a carefully curated menu paired with French wines from Burgandy, Beaujolais and Provence, which greatly contributed to the conviviality and authentic French ambiance of the evening. The entertainment also celebrated French culture featuring performances by the University House Choir and the VCAM student's Jazz Manouche Band "The Bastilles", whose music added a distinctly French flavour and helped make the event truly memorable.

An Intimate Evening with Phillip Jones.
Guests were treated to an exceptional tasting of current releases under the Phillip Jones label, alongside a selection of carefully cellared Bass Phillip wines.
The evening was perfectly complemented by a gourmet menu, with the chef earning widespread praise from members for the outstanding food.
To cap off a remarkable night, Phillip delighted guests with a surprise bottle of the extremely rare Bass Phillip Reserve Pinot Noir, providing a memorable finale to an extraordinary event.
