Want to develop communication and teamwork skills as role models for high school students?

Science Roadshow is an outreach program run by the Faculty of Science and aimed at inspiring high school students from low socioeconomic status areas to continue studying science and go to university.

In semester 2 each year, volunteer presenters deliver science shows and workshops to high schools in metro and regional areas. Presenters receive extensive training and are responsible for developing the content for the program including short talks, and unique science demos and activities.

By participating in the program, presenters develop their communication and teamwork skills and act as role models for the high school students by telling their own stories of success.

You will be required to attend a 2-hour training session/week during semester. You will be volunteering full-time during the two-week Roadshow happening after exams. This program is for students from low SES and regional areas, as identified via Access Melbourne and high school attended.

To apply, fill out this EOI survey: go.unimelb.edu.au/gv6h.

Applications close 9 August. Eligible applicants will be contacted for an interview after this date. For more information please email the Science Roadshow team: [email protected]
