In the wake of the tragedy that unfolded at Bondi Beach on Sunday, the UMMSS Executive team extends our deepest condolences to all who have been affected. As a community dedicated to care, healing, and service, we are profoundly saddened by this senseless violence and the distress it has caused to so many in our community. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to religious freedom. Our community is strengthened by its diversity, and we stand firmly against antisemitism, discrimination, and all forms of hatred. No one, regardless of faith, background, or identity, should feel unsafe or unsupported.

To all our students, and especially our Jewish students and colleagues: we stand with you. Your wellbeing matters, and we are here to support you with compassion and solidarity. Please reach out if you need assistance, whether academic, emotional, or practical. The University also provides services for those seeking further support at this time.

We have been heartened to see Australians from all walks of life respond with compassion, including the overwhelming turnout to donate blood. We encourage those who are willing and able to donate whenever possible, as every contribution helps replenish blood bank supplies across the nation.

As aspiring healthcare professionals, you continually show resilience, compassion, and strength. We stand beside you and our colleagues working across healthcare in Sydney in support of the victims. We hope for healing within the Australian community. Please take care of yourselves and each other.
