🏐A massive congratulations to our Netball girls 🏐

Today, the St Philomena School team ‘Saints White’ won their grand final match at Jimboomba against the Blue Jays’ ‘Pythons’. Our girls blitzed them with a score of 40-23 👏 🏆 They remained undefeated all season and are officially back to back premiers! Congratulations, girls 🙌 🏐

A massive thank you to their tireless coach, Marcela Massey, who has overseen the whole netball competition this year. She and her army of coaches have had such an impact on the students and their progress in this fantastic sport. A big shout out to the other coaches: MV Bailes, Monica Murnane, Lydia De Groot, Isabel Langguth and Hayley Hardy. Some of our students were also generous enough to share their time and talents coaching the younger teams: Madeleine Phillips, Isabel Massey and Stella Hardy.

We are very proud of all of our teams and congratulate them for reaching as far as they did in the competition. Here’s to another strong season in 2027!

"The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength: the right hand of the Lord hath exalted me. I shall not die, but live, and shall declare the works of the Lord." Psalm 118:16-17

An excerpt from our Schola Cantorum's concert last Saturday at the wonderful St Brigid's church. The concert programme was designed in honour of Palestrina's 500th birthday, and demonstrated the direct link between his polyphony and ancient Gregorian chant. Here the Schola sings the Good Friday hymn in honour of the Holy Cross, Vexilla Regis, followed by Palestrina's setting of the 6th verse "O Crux Ave".
