Well done, Chelsea! Looks like you have really thought about your future already 🌟

The voices that matter most.

“I originally wanted to be a primary school teacher all the way up until that event. I now am looking at other men-dominated careers, such as being an engineer, and Bec's story about how she still succeeded in a men-dominated industry made me realise that could be a possibility for me too."

These are the words of Chelsea from Park Ridge State High School, shared at our International Day of the Girl Fundraising Breakfast. Chelsea is referring to UNIQ You Industry Advisor Rebecca Burke from BMD Group, whose experience of building a career in a male-dominated industry helped Chelsea recognise new possibilities for her own future.

A powerful example of what can happen when girls have the opportunity to hear directly from women working in careers they may never have considered.

Amelia from Beenleigh State High School shared another important perspective:

"I was able to take away the fact that there are multiple ways to find your own version of success."

This is the impact of career exposure.

Giving girls the opportunity to discover careers they may never have considered, connect with women working in those roles, and see possibilities for their futures that they didn't know existed.

At our Fundraising Breakfast, students shared these experiences directly with leaders from industry, education and government. Their voices were a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

The careers girls discover today can shape the choices they make tomorrow.

Week 2: Own Your Choices!

Every day, we make choices about how we speak, act, respond and treat others. Owning your choices means taking responsibility for your actions, being honest when things don’t go as planned and learning from your mistakes. You can’t always control what happens around you, but you can control how you choose to respond. This week, think about your choices and how they can impact both you and the people around you.

Senior Academic Award recipients were emailed the following information:

🟢Please be advised there will be a rehearsal for Senior Awards for Years 10-12 students on Monday 12th October during Period 1 under X block.

🟢Students are to attend their Period 1 class first, get their names marked off and drop their bags before coming to the rehearsal.

🟢All students will need to attend the rehearsal, even if they aren't attending the evening. This is so it can be adjusted accordingly from the run on the actual night.

An exciting update from the Hort Hub and canteen! Our horticulture hub produced 18 kilos of delicious tomatoes, harvested yesterday. From this, our canteen ladies were able to use them in the Mexican salads for today's lunch service. 🍅🥗 How good!
