This is so true. I see it in clients and myself..
Old stress can live in posture.
Unprocessed load can show up as tension.
The nervous system doesn’t forget — it adapts.
Bowen Therapy offers a pause — supporting awareness and change within the body’s existing patterns, as best it's able.

This time of year can stir up big emotions — but your nervous system may hold more hope than you realise.
While Christmas is a time of connection and celebration for some, it can also amplify feelings of loneliness, stress, and depression for many others.
The good news? Emerging research is offering new hope.
A clinical trial of 493 people with major, treatment-resistant depression found that stimulating the vagus nerve — the vital communication pathway between the brain and major organs — led to meaningful improvements in mood, daily function, and overall wellbeing.
👉 And this is where Bowen Therapy has something to offer.
Bowen Therapy includes a vagus nerve procedure, and like all Bowen moves, its aim is to guide the body out of “fight or flight” and into the parasympathetic “rest and digest” state where healing becomes possible.
While the clinical trial used an implanted device, Bowen Therapy works with the body’s own healing intelligence — with no drugs, no force, and no equipment. Just precise, mindful touch designed to help the nervous system settle.
Because the vagus nerve connects — and so does Bowen.

In Bowen Therapy, the pauses aren’t a break — they’re a technique.
Between each set of moves, practitioners step away to give the body time to notice, integrate, and respond to the gentle input it’s been given.
These pauses allow the nervous system to process new information without overwhelm, and this is one of the key differences between Bowen and other hands-on therapies.
It’s subtle, it’s intentional, and students quickly learn that the magic may happen in the quiet moments.
Curious about how Bowen works — or what it’s like to learn it?
You’re in the right place. 💚

Due to the lockdown, yesterday I did a distance Bowen session for my friend in Sydney. She has had several Bowen sessions before and was in need of a "top up" and of course couldn't go to see my Sydney Bowen friend and so I just gave her a short energetic session. This morning she reported that it felt like the in person session and she is feeling so much better. Maybe we can do more distance sessions during these "interesting" times??
