Today we celebrate the wonderful educators who make such a difference in the lives of the children who attend Settlers Farm Kindergarten every day.

At Settlers Farm Kindergarten, we are incredibly grateful for the passion, patience, care and dedication our educators bring to their work. From the big moments to the little ones, our educators nurture, encourage, guide and support children as they learn, grow and discover the world around them.

A huge thank you to our amazing team for everything you do — often behind the scenes (including the gardening, maintenance and setting up the spaces for the children) and it is always with the focus on children at the heart of what you do.

We are so lucky to have such a caring and dedicated team at our kindergarten!

Happy Educator Day to our incredible educators!

A friendly reminder that Settlers Kindergarten has Pupil Free Days on Friday 28th August and Monday 31st August.

These days are dedicated to staff professional development.

Please ensure you make alternative care arrangements for your child, as Kindergarten will not be operating on these days.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

As we celebrate Book Week this week, we invite families to take some time to slow down, share a story and enjoy a book together at home.

Reading with children is about so much more than learning to read. Sharing stories helps children build their vocabulary, develop listening and communication skills, understand emotions, make connections, ask questions and use their imagination. It also creates a wonderful opportunity for connection and quality time together.

Even just 10 minutes of reading each day can make a meaningful difference.

This Book Week, we encourage you to:
📖 Let your child choose a book they enjoy
📖 Read favourite stories again and again
📖 Talk about the pictures and characters
📖 Ask your child what they think might happen next
📖 Encourage them to tell you the story in their own words
📖 Visit your local library and explore new books together

Most importantly, make reading enjoyable. There doesn't need to be a perfect way to read a book — sharing stories, talking, wondering and enjoying the experience together is what matters.

As we head into the long weekend, we hope families have the opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy some quality time together.

For children, these quieter moments at home help support wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and provide time to rest and reset before the final busy weeks of term.

Whether it’s sharing meals together, spending time outdoors, visiting loved ones, or simply enjoying a slower pace, these moments all contribute to children feeling safe, connected, and ready for learning.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday refreshed and ready for the remainder of the term.

🌿 This week especially at Settlers Farm Campus Kindergarten, our focus has been on Reconciliation—with the 2026 theme: ALL IN. 🌿

Every day, as a kindergarten community, we reflect on the land, the people, and the space where we learn and play.
Whether it’s through deep breathing, sharing what we can hear and feel, implementing our Acknowledgement of Country with key word sign, or using our talking stick to listen deeply in group discussions—we commit ourselves wholeheartedly to making a difference each day.

We invite our wonderful community—children, families, and friends—to share what reconciliation means to you. We would love to include your voices as we learn, reflect, and grow together.

Please add your comments below or send us a message. Your contributions will help our children and community continue to build respect, understanding, and meaningful connections.

Let’s walk this journey together.

Today we pause to reflect and remember on ANZAC Day.

While our kindergarten community is currently on break, ANZAC Day remains an important time to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.

Taking time to recognise this day supports children in developing an early understanding of respect, remembrance, and the values of care and community. Through simple conversations, stories, or shared moments of reflection, we help children begin to understand why this day holds significance for many Australians.

We encourage families to take a moment together today—whether through attending a service, sharing a story, or simply pausing to reflect.

🌹 Lest we forget.
