Sword & Shield Workshop's This weekend! Kids will create their very own wooden sword and shield set from scratch using simple hand tools and safe techniques. With guided support, they'll learn how to measure, mark out, saw, sand, and assemble the pieces—shaping their shield and sword before adding the finishing touches, then they can keep busy at home decorating and making it their own! It’s a fun and imaginative introduction to woodworking that builds confidence, skills, and a project they’ll be proud to play with.

We've freed up a couple of mondays these school holidays to be able to offer a project for the kids to come and do.

This winter, we’re running three levels of our 8-week classes, each designed to build real skills and send you home with a project you’re proud of.

Beginner Woodwork #1
Starts: 22 July (Tuesdays, 6:00pm)

Learn: Tool use, timber selection, measuring, cutting, sanding, and finishing.

Project: Timber tea box

Ideal if you’ve done Beginner #1 — or just want to jump in!

Intermediate Woodwork #1
Starts: 23 July (Wednesdays, 6:00pm)
Project: Wall-hung cabinet with dovetail drawer
Learn: Cabinet making, intermediate joinery, larger machinery, and refined hand tool work.
Some experience recommended.
