UPDATE # 2

Day 2 at Cheela Plains Camp took our Year 5 adventurers off the beaten track on a 6km trek to the spectacular Cheela Plains Cave!

There’s nothing quite like learning, laughing and encouraging your friends while admiring the stunning changing colours of the Pilbara landscape.

⛺️✨ TEAMWORK AND TASTY TREATS! ✨⛺️

UPDATE #1 FOR ANXIOUS PARENTS:

💪 Year 5 campers are having a fantastic day! Our “teamwork makes the dream (camp out) work” vibes are pumping!

⛺️ We’ve raced to put up AND pack down tents, enjoyed a few rounds of Finska 🎯 and negotiated some very creative balloon caterpillars 🐛.

🍰 There have also been at least three snack breaks, and sadly, no lamingtons survived.

🌙 Most importantly everyone is happy, safe and all set for the night!

🎉Our 2026 Book Week Parade was a superb celebration of a 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 and we were so happy to see many of our families join us, as students celebrated their love of reading and creativity.

🧡 We wish to also thank each and every family who supported our incredibly successful Scholastic Book Fair. Mrs Gamble was thrilled (and exhausted) to announce we raised $𝟯𝟰𝟭𝟲.𝟱𝟱 from our small but eager reader community.

⛺ CHEELA PLAINS CALLING⛺

Our Year 5 adventurers are off on an exciting camp to Cheela Plains! What an incredible opportunity to explore in one of the Pilbara’s most spectacular locations, which we are so lucky is right on our doorstep!

A huge thank you to Pat from Go West for transporting our crew safely on the road, with continued generous support from Rio Tinto. We’re also incredibly grateful to Ms Nicholls, Mr Haddock and AIEO Miss Peta for giving their time, energy and care to make this experience possible.

☑️ Please wear correct school uniform. Year 6 Garndi students will require both School Polo and School Leaver Polo.
☑️ Families of students with NO MEDIA permissions, please be advised the Whole School Photo will appear on our website and printed publication materials.

🤩Last year, our students set a record with book purchases. Let’s continue building strong reading habits and make this year even more successful!
