Tower Street Public School
Tower Street Public School is a friendly and caring school with deep links to the community. We welcome your engagement as part of our online community.
Our page will highlight the achievements and successes of our school. Please make yourself aware of the schoolβs Rules of Engagement in the Notes section.
Across our school , we have been implementing SoLA Math groups. Each lesson begins with a daily retrieval activity to reinforce and consolidate previously learned concepts, followed by a focused teaching lesson.
Students in K/6 Pink participate in an adapted SoLA Maths program that incorporates short, engaging learning activities, visual supports, and AAC devices to meet their individual learning needs. Our maths lessons are highly hands-on, providing students with meaningful opportunities to explore and apply mathematical concepts through practical experiences.
K/6 Yellow had a fantastic time this term learning about the work of artist Keith Haring and all his fun human figure artworks. They each chose a dancing pose and we made our own version of Dancing Figures. Itβs so colourful and fun π€©
Tower Street Public School students and staff participated in National Reconciliation Week through dance, drama, music, a nature walk, art, scrap booking, reading, singing, and multimedia activities. Embracing the theme All In, they explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives while learning about the importance of respect, connection, and reconciliation.
Wow, what a day! π
Four lucky Ngurra students proudly represented our school at the School Sport Unit Boccia Competition today at Bankstown Basketball Stadium.
The team played five games of Boccia against other primary schools and finished second at the end of their heats. They then competed in the finals, where 10 teams took part in todayβs competition. After a fantastic effort, Tower Street finished in an impressive 7th place overall.
This is an outstanding achievement, especially considering it was the first time competing for all four of our Year 2 students. Their teamwork, determination, and positive attitude were on display throughout the day.
