Submitting Questions or Agenda Items for Full Council & AGM 💬🗳️

As we prepare for the Annual Full Council meeting on 10 October, we have put together a helpful Guide for Agenda Items (Motions or Questions) to help Councils and Boards consider issues they may wish to raise on the day: https://ntcogso.org.au/news-and-events/events/annual-full-council-agm

The guide includes:

- A flowchart explaining the difference between Agenda Items and Questions for the Minister or Chief Executive
Guidance on preparing an Agenda Item
- An example Agenda Item
- Agenda Items should relate to broader Territory or national education items, rather than an individual school, and may seek changes to NTCOGSO Policy or Constitution, or action from government.

We encourage Councils and Boards to discuss any potential issues at an upcoming meeting. Please contact your Regional Representative or the NTCOGSO office if you would like assistance.

💜 Bullying No Way Week begins tomorrow.

This year’s theme, 'Small Acts, Big Impact', is a reminder that preventing bullying is something we can all play a part in. Including someone, speaking up, checking in or showing kindness might feel like a small thing, but it can make a very big difference to someone else.

We encourage all schools to get on board and engage in small acts that can have a big impact against bullying - not just for the week, but ongoing.
..and in case you missed it, the Australian Government has just launched its new 'Let’s Stop Bullying' campaign, with new resources for young people, parents, carers and school communities to help recognise, prevent and respond to bullying.

Today, we celebrate 55 years of NT COGSO! 🎉🩵🧡

On this day in 1971, NT COGSO was officially established as a single representative body to give parents and families a collective voice in public education.

While much has changed over the past five decades, our purpose hasn't. We remain committed to strengthening NT government schools and helping students, families and communities thrive.

Thank you to every School Body member, volunteer, educator, partner and family who has been part of our journey over the past 55 years. Here's to continuing to advocate, collaborate and make a difference together.
