*NAIDOC Week*

This year we are celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC week. NAIDOC week celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander peoples.

Through a variety of different stories, artwork and experiences incorporating natural and recycled materials the children have been exploring the History and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Babies room open day!

Looking at enrolling your baby, 0-12 month old, and not sure where to start?

We will be holding an open day for new families on Saturday 11th July 2026 from 930am- 1030am. This will be a chance to come down to the centre and view our babies room and chat with our experienced educators.

Following on from our four year old kindergarten incursion with Balegrow, the children have assisted in maintaining our haybale garden. The kindergarten room added a water pump to collect rain water, and used milk cartons to create sustainable watering cans for the children to water the garden with.

These sustainable practices help foster empathy for the environment, the children learning to care for and respect their garden, and support’s the children’s sense of agency. Since having the haybale garden the children have demonstrated more interest in nutrition and we have been exploring the benefits that different fruits and vegetables have on our bodies. The children have also showcased their own gardens from home promoting a strong sense of belonging and identity.

BaleGrow incursion visit 🌱

As part of our 4yr old kindergarten project based on sustainability and nutrition we had Tracey from BaleGrow come out to teach the children about gardening, nutrition and sustainability.

Throughout the incursion the children participated in discussions around recycling, sustainability and nutrition before planting their own seedlings into the rooms new hay bales.

The children will be able to watch the seedlings grow, producing vegetable for the children to taste. The children throughout the centre will be able to continue to add to the hay bales and harvest their own vegetables.

Werner plays a huge role within the Hippity Hop
Centres doing all our maintenance and making repairs and improvements throughout the centre.

The children love seeing Werner at the centre with all his tools, always asking questions about he’s building next!
