Okay you’re still reading. Hi, I’m Jamie, I’ve been playing drums since I was 16 years old. The first time I wanted to learn drums was 3 years beforehand at age 13.
I used to sit outside the music room at lunch time and listen to the amazing drum solos coming from within the building.
Something amazing happened, it became a reality, I asked and after hearing NO many times, I got a YES.
Now I’ve been teaching for around 10 years, with an aim to inspire and build skills to craft the passion into that moment when your life undoubtedly changed for the best.

I found my people in music. Let's aim to help you, or someone you care about to find their purpose in music and the many opportunities that are waiting for you.

Still here? No problems. My goal is simple, be open to learning something new, act by messaging me, and let’s get started!

Names will be put into a hat and drawn in a live video, pulling out the name of the lucky winner.

If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

I took last year off to help my partner after a pretty serious injury (CRPS). Life has truly changed.
At this point I'm looking to build up Rhythms - The Music School again. It would mean the world to bring back some work into my life to be able to pay for surgeries and any other needs as I'm also a father of 3. Teaching truly is my passion, and couldn't see myself doing anything else at this point.

Please help spread the word! 🎶

I have always had a connection to music. Early in life singing was the main instrument I had as the body is ausical instrument. My nan told me so many times I loved the guitar, and found myself drawn to learning the piano with her at a young age.
However as we grow, our oportunaties change. I was given the opportunity of learning some guitar chords from my mums friends partner at one stage. I remember being gifted for Christmas a guitar. Whilst tuning the guitar, some strings snapped pretty quickly....reflecting on that, lessons on that would have really helped me.
Later on, the drums really came into the picture. At age 13, I remember being drawn to the music room at lunch. There was usually a drummer practising, I would just listen outside and chat with friends. However it was not yet time for the drumming to begin.

On my 16th birthday I was gifted a drum kit...not realising what this would become, after a few lessons, I found myself filming the drumming, which just so happened to turn into more of an introductory to drums.
Reflecting on this now, it makes a lot of sense why I'd find myself as a music teacher.
Just a little bit of inside to a much longer story. 🎶🎵🎶

Sometimes I wonder what it all means. Why was I drawn to teaching? Why does music resonate so potently within me? It could have been anything. Just a thought ☺️

Maybe this message is for you:

Life itself doesn’t come with inherent meaning; it’s up to us to create our own purpose.

We are more than just our roles or labels—we are the sum of our experiences, passions, and the impact we have on others. Each of us is an amazing individual, and collectively, no one is better than another. We get to love ourselves with as much love as we would give to our best friend or family, and that is exactly how we get to treat ourselves. Life happens for us, not to us. We get to make a purpose; we don’t have to.

For instance, I found music, and the way it makes me feel gave me what I consider to be a purpose and something to live for.
This passion led me to create Rhythms, The Drum House. I give lessons because I know that music gives hope to others as it did for me. Even on the days when I don't feel myself, I teach because it spreads love, joy, and peace. Music itself can be enough to help change someone's life.

Act on your most excited self, but remember it is also a double-edged sword.
Be careful what you wish for, as our words are very powerful and create life through doing, in the now. The past and future do not exist; it is, has been, and will always be lived in the present moment, NOW.

Positivity and balance, along with perspective, keep us thankful for life.
They drive us through the suffering we experience, helping us find meaning and stay motivated to enjoy our lives in the beauty of creation itself. Even though life includes suffering, it isn’t always so. We live to feel moments of true happiness, which we find through our meaning and purposes.

In order to find that purpose, draw from what you are drawn to.
