A beautiful hands-on and meaningful learning experience at Cardinia Lakes ELC 🍂🌿

Our little learners spent the day immersed in the wonders of autumn, exploring the outdoor environment and collecting fallen leaves. They carefully observed the vibrant colours, unique shapes, and different textures, using rich language to describe what they could see and feel.

Through intentional conversations, educators supported children’s understanding of the season of autumn and explored why leaves fall from trees, encouraging curiosity, early scientific thinking, and connection to the natural world 🌎✨

To extend their learning, the children created their very own autumn tree using the leaves they collected. Each artwork reflected their imagination, creativity, and developing understanding of seasonal change 💛

Holi, known as the festival of colours, celebrates happiness, togetherness, and the arrival of spring. It is an important cultural celebration that teaches children about diversity, inclusion, and respect for different traditions.

Through colour play, music, and group activities, the children explored creativity, sensory experiences, and social interaction. They practiced sharing, turn-taking, and cooperation while enjoying the vibrant colours. Experiences like these also support children’s confidence, cultural awareness, and sense of belonging within our learning community.

Celebrating cultural festivals helps children understand that our community is made up of many different traditions, and each one is valued and respected.

Children explored the piano through hands-on music play, discovering sounds, rhythms, and creative expression. Experiences like these support listening skills, coordination, focus, and confidence while encouraging imagination and joyful learning.

Our Pre-Kinders had a wonderful time celebrating Lunar New Year! They created traditional Chinese lanterns using red and yellow paper, exploring Chinese culture while strengthening fine motor skills, patience, and creative expression.

Celebrating cultural traditions helps children develop understanding, empathy, and a sense of connection to the world around them. 🏮✨

We are celebrating the Month of Love by encouraging kindness, friendship, empathy, and gratitude in our learning spaces. Through creative experiences, thoughtful conversations, and beautiful artwork, children are learning that love is shown through caring actions, respect for others, and meaningful connections. Thank you to our wonderful families for being part of our supportive and nurturing community

Day in our Pre-Kindy room is always full of curiosity, creativity, and little moments of discovery! 🌟

From exploring hands-on activities to engaging in stories, songs, and playful learning, our little learners are encouraged to develop their independence, social skills, and love for learning every single day.
