Don’t live in the world where soreness, time spent in the gym and amount of exercises done in a session decide how successful it was.
It’s time to change the angle.
Focus on these:
- Quality exercises
- Quality ex*****on of the exercises
- Progressively Overloading on these exercises
- Good nutrition to fuel sessions and aid recovery
Take focus from these:
- Soreness to gauge how good a session was
- Excessive “junk” volume
- Excessive amount of time in the gym

If you don’t want to count a calorie and train every single day on a holiday, you don’t bloody have to!
Did you get in to your pre holiday shape in 2 weeks?
Nope.
Pretty sure you won’t leave Bali with CVD, diabetes and a beer gut after 2 weeks then.
Healthy habits are always good.
Eating well and training consistently is always good too.
But holidays are also good, and taking a break is super important for most people.
So when we FINALLY get to go overseas again (thanks rona), don’t buy into any bu****it “guide to staying in shape on holidays” or any other rubbish like that.
Do what YOU want to do, and don’t let anybody make you feel bad for it.
Wanna be healthy on holidays and that’ll make you happy? Go for it, awesome.
Wanna have cake and a beer for brekky at 1pm on your holiday? Mate, absolutely send it.
Balance.

This. So Important.
Forget random social media workouts and the new program your favourite influencer puts out every month and hypes up to the answer to all your prayers.
Long term adherence, simplicity and fundamentals literally can not be skipped.
If you REALLY want great results, stop neglecting the basics.
It’s a simple game. People just make it complicated.

Getting the most out of your time in the gym is super important, especially for those who take their progress seriously.
Which is why having a purpose, or a goal, is super important to maximising your training.
Think about it, long term put these 2 people against each other:
Person 1: Comes to the gym every day, trains hard, but makes it up as they go, sometimes tend to overtrain, no thought process behind workouts and doesn’t track overall volume and intensity over time.
Person 2: Comes to the gym 4-6 days per week (program depending), follows a plan to achieve their goals, tracks volume and intensity over time, exercises selected have reason.
Person 2 is going to come out on top every time!
Why?
Because they are going about their training with PURPOSE. Not just winging it and seeing where they end up.
They are taking control of what they need to in order to achieve their goals, and when they step foot in the gym, they know exactly what needs to be done.
Goals aren’t achieved by accident.
If you want to achieve your goals or just get more out of yourself at the gym, give yourself that clear purpose 💪🏻
Be Bold.

Use the power of goal setting.
Once you physically put something out there, you would be surprised how your actions around that thing change.
Put it out there, no matter what it is.
It could be the wildest thought or goal you have.
Make it real. Give yourself the direction you need. It could be the best thing you ever do.
