From 1 October 2026, families can access initial supports under Thriving Kids.

Thriving Kids is starting to help children aged 0 to 8 years who need extra support with their development and their families.

From 1 October 2026, families can access initial supports under Thriving Kids.

Thriving Kids is starting to help children aged 0 to 8 years who need extra support with their development and their families.

If you've noticed signs and don't know what they mean, have questions about your child's development, or are ready to find support, Thriving Kids is an easy place to start.

✅ No diagnosis needed.
✅ Trusted information on childhood development and autism.

All Thriving Kids supports will be rolled out by January 2028. The way people access the NDIS won’t change before then.

Spring is here, the sun is shining (sort of… it is Victoria after all!) and the kids are ready to get back outside.

From the playground to the backyard, there’s nothing better than letting little ones run, climb, jump and explore. But with all that activity can come the occasional tumble.

If your child takes a fall and ends up with a sprain, remember R.I.C.E.R.:

🛋️ Rest: Give the injured area a break and avoid activities that cause pain.
🧊 Ice: Apply a cold pack wrapped in a cloth to help reduce pain and swelling.
🤕 Compression: Use a firm, comfortable bandage to help limit swelling - but not too tightly.
⬆️ Elevation: Raise the injured area while resting to help reduce swelling.
👩‍⚕️Referral: Seek medical advice if there is significant pain, swelling, difficulty using the limb, concern for a fracture or symptoms are not improving.

Knowing what to do when an injury happens can help you feel more confident and prepared, whether you’re at the park, at home or out for a play date.

Join Cardinia Shire Council on Thursday 1 October at Cochrane Park, Koo Wee Rup for a day packed with action, skills, music and fun as they celebrate the conclusion of Victorian Youth Fest 2026.

🎉 Make the most of the school holidays at Koo Wee Rup Skate, Scoot and BMX Day!

Join us on Thursday 1 October at Cochrane Park, Koo Wee Rup for a day packed with action, skills, music and fun as we celebrate the conclusion of Victorian Youth Fest 2026.

Designed for young people aged 12-25, this free event is packed with action, skills, music and fun, with opportunities to learn something new, build confidence and connect with others.

🛹 10am - Learn to Skate
🛴 11am - Scoot Session
🚲 1pm - BMX Session
🛹 2pm - Skate Session

You'll also be able to catch live performances from talented young people from Council's Rising Sun Crew, showcasing their vocal and musical talents throughout the event.

Delivered in partnership with the YMCA, Koo Wee Rup Men's Shed and Cardinia Shire Council, this event is all about creating opportunities for young people to connect, be active and have fun in a safe and inclusive environment.
