The Club was founded in 1992. It is affiliated with Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan through Aikido Shinryukan NZ.

We are an open-spirited dojo with a welcoming attitude, more than 30 years experience and a wealth of senior instructors including two 6th-Dan, one 5th-Dan and four 4th-dan black belts. We practice a mixture of traditional hand-to-hand and weapons work. Zanshin (残心) – La Atención que Todo lo Ve

En el combate, en una negociación o en cualquier situación crítica, el que percibe antes, domina el momento. Zanshin no es solo estar alerta, es mantener una conciencia continua, incluso después de ejecutar una acción. En Aikidō, no basta con aplicar una técnica; la atención debe extenderse más allá del instante, abarcando el entorno, la intención del otro y lo que está por venir.

Este nivel de atención no es exclusivo del tatami. En reuniones de negocios, un detalle en la postura de un interlocutor, un matiz en su tono de voz, una pausa inusual, pueden revelar más que sus palabras. En la calle, un movimiento sutil puede ser la señal de un peligro inminente. La diferencia entre actuar a tiempo o reaccionar tarde está en la capacidad de percibir lo que los demás ignoran.

Zanshin se entrena, no es un don. Observar sin distracciones, mantener la mente en el presente, expandir la percepción a lo que parece irrelevante. Con el tiempo, lo que para otros es imperceptible, para ti será evidente.
