Thanks to the lovely Ms Smith for having me back at St Clare's College, Waverley! // I was thrilled to spend the morning with her dedicated YR12s talking exam navigational systems! // It’s a tough time at present for HSC Visual Arts students - splitting time between the demands of both the practical and written exams! // Wishing teachers and students the very best during these next weeks across Trials and BOW hand-in! // Thanks so much for invite, Maree-Louise! // ⭐️

So wonderful to return to Newcastle Grammar School to present my HSC Success workshop - talking all things Visual Arts Written Exam! // Julie Owers does the most fantastic job steering the Stage 6 ship - and I always feel inspired after my visit! // I love that Julie has taken onboard my ‘exam backpack’ strategy … and as you can see, her YR12s are in the final stages of packing for their Trial exam! // ⭐️
A bonus on my visit was touring NGS’s tertiary-level senior studios! // These spaces are examples of best-practice in-action! // I’d love to see how other schools set-up their seniors for BOW development … Do you have a dedicated space for your students? Have you visited a school that does this well? I’d love to hear from you about this … ⭐️

It was lovely to return to MCC Kenthurst today to discuss the HSC Visual Arts Written Exam. // I first met these Yr12 students when they were in Yr9 - when I facilitated an artmaking workshop. So it was a delight to see them again, this time as art critics - preparing for their Trial Exam. // Thank you to Ms Rana for inviting me & wishing the 12s all the best as they move into the revision stage of the course! // ⭐️

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia was practically empty at 10am yesterday … and what a thrill it was to see Tony Albert’s exhibition without crowds! // Being alone with the work was kinda magical! // After a some time, a tour group arrived … led by - wait for it - the artist himself! // How lucky to stroll the halls listening afar to Albert talk through his work with his audience. // The artist was very kind to share a photo op with me … I explained that my Visual Arts teacher colleagues and students, would be most impressed that I got to meet him! [See Stories!] // What an extraordinary show this is. // I know we all love sharing Albert’s practice with our students - and this exhibition is such a valuable resource for the classroom. // I am putting together an HSC Case Study based on the show - and when it’s done, I’d be happy to share it with anyone who may like a copy!? // Thank you tony albert - for sharing your powerful voice with us all! // ⭐️
Tony Albert: Not a Souvenir
21 May – 19 Oct
Day 2 at Loreto Kirribilli! // Today I worked with Year 9 students on developing their site study portfolio of drawings, prints, photos - into digital artworks! // We explored the basics in Adobe Illustrator and students marveled at the wonders of transforming images into vectors! // What a stellar job they did in creating print-ready artworks, all in a day’s work! // As always - I loved working alongside the LK dream team - Mss. Harrison, Fabrizio, Anderiesen, Bartholomew & Van Stom! // ⭐️
Side Story: In my artist talk, I recounted memories of my teen years at LK … when my art teacher Ms Edmonds (Fiona Dubrovnik) allowed me to paint in the art rooms on weekends. I would simply ask the nuns in the convent next door for the keys to the school - and off I went! Life was a little simpler back then!

Well done to Year 7 Loreto Kirribilli students who took on my painting-in-a-day challenge! // This workshop (One_Thing_Leads_To_Another) steps students through collage, photo/digital, painting, drawing … and is a great way to round out the semester! // With a few final tweaks, these paintings will be ready to hang as a fabulous group show! // As always - it’s a dream to return to my alma mater - and team-teach with the best in the biz! // Thanks to Mss. Harrison, Fabrizio, Anderiesen, Bartholomew & Van Stom! // ⭐️
