I’m so honoured to be nominated again for this year’s Educator of the year award! ⭐️

When I first started my little Family Daycare I never imagined moments like this. I simply wanted to make a difference in the lives of my little friends to help them feel safe, loved, confident and excited to learn. Seeing them grow, develop their personalities and achieve things they once thought they couldn’t is what makes this role so rewarding.
This nomination means so much because it reflects the relationships I’ve built with the children and families who have trusted and supported me along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey and has encouraged me to be the educator I am today.
No matter the outcome I am proud to do what I love and grateful for the opportunity to spend each and everyday with my little friends! ✨🌈

✨Hello! ✨

I have a rare opportunity coming up in May for two little friends to join us. This is due to a couple of my current friends starting their kindy programs to prepare for big school next year.

Lovey & Me FDC offers a small, nurturing environment where children build strong relationships, feel safe, and learn through play. Nestled in a quiet street in Oxenford and with only four little friends a day each child gets lots of individual attention and care. We love getting out into the community and regularly go on local excursions exploring the world around us.

🌹 Lest we forget 🌹

This week we took time to reflect, remember and learn as we commemorated Anzac Day together. We explored this through a range of different experiences; baking traditional Anzac biscuits, sharing the story of Anzac Ted and exploring thoughtful sensory experiences. To honour those who served we even visited our local war memorial and laid our handmade wreaths to show our respect and gratitude 🤍 🌹

It was a busy time in the kitchen today with our little friends celebrating National Pizza Day. What a delicious and fun morning we had together!🧑‍🍳

Today we celebrated Waitangi Day where we learn’t about Aotearoa’s (New Zealand’s) rich Māori culture and traditions. My little friends were introduced to some Māori language and enjoyed watching and joining in with kapa haka traditional Māori songs and dances. This was a great way to support my friends understanding of cultural diversity and respect for other cultures and their traditions. 🌿🇳🇿

🐨 K is for Koala! 🐨
Since celebrating Australia Day my little friends have been interested in learning all about Australian animals. One of our favourites was Koalas! This topic provided a wonderful opportunity to build vocabulary, encourage curiosity, and further develop their understanding. We learnt some fun facts along the way! For instance did you know that Koalas can sleep up to 18 hours a day?! 🐨💤🌿🇦🇺
