Rock Scholars is Perth’s favourite teaching and learning community for young people that want to p Our terms are aligned to the state school term.

Rock Scholars is a performance based, interactive music school. We believe that the only way to teach music is with a hands on approach and therefore our entire school is dedicated to getting kids playing music, and in bands in as authentic way as possible. Instrumental Lessons:

At Rock Scholars we will help you to start or become better at playing guitar, drums, keys, bass guitar or with your si

nging. Our fun and easy one on one method of teaching, tailored to our student's needs, uses a variety of modern/contemporary/rock based songs to guide each student through the learning process and offers fast and satisfying results to ensure you get the most out of each lesson. Band Program:

Rock Scholars is a year round tuition based program. We place students in bands with other players of a similar age group and level of ability. Each student in our band program attends a weekly two hour band rehearsal with their band mentor in preparation for our seasonal gigs.

🎸 SOLOPALOOZA SUNDAY RULED! 🎸

A huge thank you to our brilliant Rock Scholars community for coming out and supporting our instrumental students at our 2nd ever Solopalooza this past Sunday!

An even huger congratulations to all of our performers for getting up onstage and showcasing their amazing talents ✨

Events like this are lucky to break even after costs, but the joy, pride and sense of community they create make it all SO worth it.

Performances from 12-7pm
$5 entry, U10s free!

We’re excited to add the full Musora teaching toolkit to Rock Scholars! 🎉
A huge thank you to Sergio Ponti of Drumeo and the team at Musora Media for generously gifting Rock Scholars a subscription. Co-owner John Reece had the pleasure of meeting Sergio while touring Europe recently, and after hitting it off, Sergio kindly offered us access to this incredible resource.
This isn’t just Drumeo — our tutors now have access to Musora’s full catalogue, including Drumeo, Guitareo, Pianote , Singeo and Playbass. That means a huge range of high-quality notation, exercises, play-alongs, lesson ideas and structured teaching content across multiple instruments, genres and skill levels.
It’ll give our tutors even more practical tools to tailor material to individual students, support the songs our bands are learning, and bring greater variety and structure into Rock Scholars sessions.
More great resources for our team means an even better learning experience for our students. We’re incredibly grateful — thank you again, Sergio and Musora! 🎸🥁🎹 Oh, and check out Sergio’s band Dirty Shirt. They’re unreal!

🎉 SOLOPALOOZA IS BACK! 🎉

Earlier this year we launched Solopalooza to give our instrumental students the same chance to perform on stage that our Band Program students get every term, and it’s back!

On Sunday 23rd Aug, our instrumental students have the chance to hit The Garage stage to perform songs they’ve been working on in their lessons.

The response has been incredible so far, so come down and support them. It’s going to be a killer arvo!

💥Term 3 has kicked off with a bang, but give us a sec to shoutout our legendary Band Camp cohort for July 2026! 💥

This awesome crew spent 4 days learning a bunch of tunes and having a heap of fun with mentors Harry, Pat, Siobhan & Sam, capping it off by absolutely crushing a performance to family and friends at the end of the week. One of our fav Band Camps ever!

So much fun, keep your eyes peeled for our next Band Camp 👀
