Western Australia’s training achievements honoured at national awards WA in the spotlight at the Australian Training Awards

Great news! The Premier Mark McGowan and Minister for Education and Training Sue Ellery today announced that the State Government will reduce course fees to half price for target vocational education and training (VET) qualifications, from 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2021, under the new Lower fees, local skills program. Lower fees, local skills — Course fees reduced for 2020—21 Lower fees, local skills means half price course fees on target VET qualifications in areas of high jobs growth for WA, and an annual cap on fees. Study, save, succeed!

The State Government has responded to recommendations of the State Training Board's Strategies to grow apprenticeships and traineeships report. From 1 July the State Government will offer financial assistance to Western Australian businesses who employ an apprentice or new entrant trainee and who have lodged the training contract for registration on or after 1 July 2019.
