At Indigo Montessori North Perth, our Children’s House children are celebrating Science Week with a colourful and exciting experiment - Fizzing Colours!✨ Using baking soda, vinegar, and different colours, the children explored what happens when two materials are mixed together and observed the exciting fizzing reaction. 🫧🎨 Through this hands-on experience, children were encouraged to make predictions, observe changes, ask questions, and explore cause and effect, while having lots of fun! We love creating meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity and encourage children to discover the wonderful world of science through play and exploration 🧫🥼

🧸💤 PJs, teddies & picnic fun! 🧺✨
In the month of July - we had the best day at Indigo Applecross celebrating a combined National PJ Day and Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day! Both the educators and children came dressed in their coziest PJs, and the children brought along their favourite teddies and enjoyed a day full of picnics, activities, and smiles. 💕
We were also proud to raise money for ‘The Pyjama Foundation’; who supports learning opportunities for children living in foster care. 💙

❄️☃️ Welcome to Indigo Montessori's Winter Wonderland! ☃️❄️
Our children had the best time preparing for this special day, working together to create a fishing boat and hut using recycled cardboard before bringing them to life with paint, glue and lots of creativity. It was a wonderful team effort from both our children and educators!
On the day, the children immersed themselves in imaginative play as they roasted marshmallows around the campfire, sailed the fishing boat, caught fish to deliver to the fishing hut, and explored a variety of winter-themed sensory tuff trays.
It was a day filled with creativity, collaboration, laughter and magical winter adventures!

During National Reconciliation Week, the children at Indigo Montessori North Perth have been exploring Indigenous cultures, traditions, and the importance of reconciliation. Through hands-on sensory trays featuring Indigenous symbols, the children engaged in meaningful learning experiences and thoughtful conversations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives. 🌏✨

The children also proudly collaborated with Connecting the Dots Through Change as part of the Sea of Hearts Movement. 💙 Through this special initiative, they reflected on their promises to care for and respect our country, its people, and its future. 🌱🤝

🦷✨ Smiles all around during Applecross’s Dental Incursion! ✨🦷
The children at Indigo Applecross across the whole centre enjoyed an exciting hands-on experience learning all about healthy teeth and oral hygiene through music, movement, stories, role play, and interactive activities.
From brushing puppets’ teeth with giant toothbrushes, singing tooth-brushing songs, and becoming little dentists, to exploring dental x-rays and practising flossing techniques - every experience encouraged positive lifelong habits in a fun and engaging way! 🪥🎶
A very special thank you to the wonderful centre parent and ‘Dental On Wheels’ founder, Nateenee, for delivering such an engaging and educational incursion.

A magical morning in our Children’s House at Applecross 🦄🌈

We were so excited to welcome special guest author Elisia Seeber to our centre for a delightful reading of her beautiful book, Unicorns Do Not Exist (Yes, They Do!!) 💖

The children were captivated by the fun and interactive storytelling! After the reading, Elisia stayed to enjoy some wonderful unicorn-themed activities with the children, bringing even more creativity and smiles to the day 🎨
We are so excited to now have this wonderful book as part of our collection for the children’s house to continue enjoying together!

Thank you, Elisia, for sharing such a special experience with our Children’s House children — it was truly magical! 💕
