What a way to finish the EISM Senior winter season! All three Kilvington teams who reached their Grand Final were crowned 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦, completing a remarkable 3-0 Grand Final record.

Our 30th anniversary celebrations continued yesterday with a very special guest, The Great Armando, who brought his incredible magic show to our ELCers!

From jaw-dropping tricks and hilarious surprises to plenty of audience participation, our students were completely captivated. There were plenty of wide eyes, big laughs and very enthusiastic attempts to work out how he did it! 🪄✨

is an award-winning Melbourne children’s magician with more than 20 years of experience entertaining young audiences, and he certainly lived up to the name.

What a wonderful way to add a little extra magic to our 30th anniversary celebrations!

What a moment for Kilvington Sport! Our Senior Girls AFL team are EISM Winter Champions for the first time in Kilvington history!

The girls delivered a dominant performance in the Grand Final, defeating Kingswood College 46–7 to emphatically claim the championship. A phenomenal result and a well-deserved reward for the team's hard work throughout the season.

Thanks go out to our huge Kilvington cheer squad, with our Senior School boys, teachers and admin staff on the sidelines of EE Gunn Reserve to support the team.

🏡 𝟯𝟬 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗡 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘
Kilvington celebrated a very special milestone as our Early Learning Centre marked 30 years in the house we now proudly call Swann House.

Our ELC opened here in 1996 with just 12 students. Since then, hundreds of children have taken their first steps in their Kilvington journey within these walls. It was especially wonderful to welcome Renee, one of those original 12 students, back to Swann House for the celebration.

But the story of this place began much earlier. In the 1950s, Frederick H. Swann built the family home here so his daughters Janine and Victoria, could attend Kilvington nearby. The Swann family’s connection with Kilvington grew over the years, with Fred serving an extraordinary 36 years on the School Council.

Today, we were delighted to welcome members of the Swann family back to their former home as we celebrated its history and formally renewed its name as Swann House, honouring the family’s enduring connection to Kilvington.

We were also delighted to welcome former staff, and David Southwick MP, who unveiled a new plaque commemorating 30 years of Early Learning. Our longest-serving ELC educators, Ms Leembruggen and Ms Laughlin, who have each given more than 20 years of service, then had the honour of cutting the anniversary cake. 🎂

Our 2026 Annual Music Concert was a wonderful celebration of the talent, dedication and passion of our students, with the Melbourne Recital Centre providing the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening.

Every student should be incredibly proud of what they achieved on stage. 👏

A heartfelt thank you all our families who attended, and to our music staff, instrumental teachers, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to bring the concert to life. We also thank our wider Kilvington community for their ongoing support of our incredible Music Program.

What a fantastic way to celebrate the power of music, singing and dance, and our amazing community behind it.

🧪 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞! 🔬
Recently, our Senior School packed The HIVE, Kilvington’s STEM centre, for a Liquid Nitrogen Show, which was obviously very cool.

At a seriously chilly −196°C, students explored the amazing properties of liquid nitrogen through shrinking balloons, smashing frozen flowers, turning bananas into hammers, popping canisters and observing the Leidenfrost effect, before finishing with some liquid nitrogen ice cream.

It hardly seems possible, but it’s already been almost a year since the Class of 2025 crossed the stage at graduation!

Now it’s time to return to Kilvington, reconnect with old friends, share a few laughs and hear all about what everyone has been up to since leaving school. Join us for drinks, nibbles and an afternoon of catching up with your former classmates.

🧪 Little scientists in the making! 🔬

In the lead up to 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 at Kilvington, and our excited ELC Pre-Prep groups were ecstatic to put on their lab coats and protective glasses as they joined our Head of Science Ms Macfarlane and our Student Science Leaders for some hands-on experiments!

Our young scientists developed their ability to predict, observe and describe as they explored:

🫠 Predicting and observing what melts
🧴 Chemical reactions to make a bottle float
🌈 Milk, food colouring and shooting stars
🌸 Blooming flowers in water

While these experiments are a special part of National Science Week, hands-on scientific discovery is a regular part of ELC life at Kilvington. Through experiences like these, our youngest learners are encouraged to ask questions, make predictions and discover how the world around them works.

🌱 Early Learning Matters Week reminds us that the early years are some of the most important in a child's life.

Every day at Kilvington’s ELC, our educators create meaningful learning experiences through play, helping children develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to thrive now and into the future.

As our Director of ELC, Lyn Pewtress, shares:
