An incredible achievement for Year 7 students Harrison Z, Max B, Noah H, and Alex O, who have been awarded Silver on the world stage at the Global Future Problem Solving Conference in Indiana, USA.
Representing Australia alongside students from 20 other Australian schools, the team joined more than 2,200 students from around the world to showcase their Community Problem Solving project.
Over the past 18 months, the students have worked with Prep to Year 2 learners whose home language is not English, creating resources and building meaningful connections to support language development, confidence and inclusion.
The team impressed judges across their portfolio, presentation, project display, video and interview, earning 2nd place in the world from a field of 18 international teams.
A special acknowledgement to Henry K, whose contributions to the project this year were invaluable.
This outstanding result reflects the power of student-led action and a commitment to making a genuine difference in the lives of others. Congratulations on this truly outstanding achievement that has made the entire Kilvington community proud!

There is a real buzz in the air as soloists prepare to step into the spotlight on piano, French horn and violin, while our VCE music performance students, Orchestra, Chamber Strings and Choirs bring everything together for a huge night of music.
The excitement is as strong as the nerves now, and that combination usually means something special is about to happen.

Kilvington's Sylvie M. has enjoyed an exceptional year of musical achievement, performing Vivaldi's Double Cello Concerto, appearing as a soloist at the Gala Concert of the International Suzuki Festival, and earning places in both the Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy and Young Mannheim Symphonists. Her success is a testament to her talent, dedication and love of music.
Sylvie's achievements are a wonderful example of the musical journey students can take at Kilvington. Yesterday, our Year 2 and 3 Strings students took an important step on that journey as they proudly performed for family and friends at the Junior School Strings Concert, showcasing the skills and confidence they have developed this year.
We're also delighted that Sylvie will be performing in next week's Concerto Concert. If you'd like to experience the remarkable talent of our student musicians, tickets are still available:

A heartfelt thank you to the alumni mentors who generously volunteered their time as part of Kilvingtonโs 2026 Mentor Matching Program.
Over multiple sessions, our Year 11 students connected with former students who shared valuable insights into university life, career pathways and the opportunities that lie beyond school. These conversations help students build confidence, broaden their horizons and feel more informed about the decisions ahead.
What makes this program especially meaningful is the connection between past and present Kilvington students. Our mentors understand the experiences, values and aspirations that shape life at Kilvington, making their guidance all the more impactful.
One particularly memorable connection was formed between student Sinclair and mentor Suzanne Johnston (Class of 1975), an internationally acclaimed operatic mezzo-soprano and former Kilvington student. What began as a mentoring partnership quickly grew into a strong and supportive relationship, with Suzanne attending and surprising Sinclair after his lead performance in this yearโs Senior School Production.
Thank you to all of our mentors for investing in our students and helping them explore their bright futures with confidence.

โณ๏ธ๐ Congratulations to Year 9 student David Zhu on another outstanding golfing achievement.
David recently won the individual title while representing Kilvington at the School Sport Associations of Victoria (SSAV) Golf Championships at Lonsdale Links, rising above challenging wet and windy conditions and a strong field from across the state.
His victory earned him automatic selection in the 2026 School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic Golf 18 Years and Under Team, where he will represent Victoria at the School Sport Australia Championships at Moonah Links.
As the youngest member of the squad, David continues an impressive run of success and is a wonderful example of dedication, skill and perseverance.

๐ง๐ฟ Our Year 7 students continue going with the flow in 2026, this time diving into the Geography topic of 'Water in the World' with a trip to the beautiful Toolangi State Forest.
Exploring the temperate rainforest gave students the chance to see the water cycle in action while learning more about Melbourneโs water supply and why protecting it matters. Along the way, they investigated different water qualities, searched for water bugs and soaked up plenty of hands-on learning opportunities from the experts.

What a joy it was to welcome more than 250 grandparents and special guests to our ELC and Junior School for a morning filled with smiles, stories and special moments.
A beautiful Assembly, musical performances, classroom visits and morning tea in Dalton Hall combined to create a wonderful celebration of connection across generations.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, students and volunteers who helped bring the event to life, and to our grandparents for making the day so memorable with your warmth and enthusiasm.
Judging by the smiles, hugs and plenty of โCan we do this again next year?โ, the morning was one to remember.
