About our logo:

The koru (Māori for "bight" or "loop") is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond. The koru reaches towards the light, striving for perfection, encouraging new positive beginnings. The circular s

hape of the koru helps to convey the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil suggests a return to the point of origin. The koru, represents the unfolding of new life, that everything is reborn and continues, symbolizing growth, strength and peace. It represents renewal and hope for the future. The Phoenix is a benevolent, mythical sacred firebird that is said to have the cry of a beautiful song. Near the end of it's long lifespan, it builds itself a nest of twigs then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. The phoenix has long been presented as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, and renewal.

Join Sandi Phoenix in conversation with Catriona Kucks from The Healing Foundation as they explore how educators can teach about the Stolen Generations with confidence, care and cultural safety.

This resource kit offers curriculum aligned, age appropriate lesson plans from Foundation to Year 12, developed with Stolen Generations survivors, Elders and educators. It's grounded in truth telling, healing and First Nations perspectives, and helps students engage respectfully with survivor stories while understanding the ongoing impacts of removal policies and intergenerational trauma.

This is learning that belongs in classrooms all year round, not just on days of significance like Sorry Day or NAIDOC Week.
