MANAWATIA MATARIKI ⭐️

Te Manawa Ora welcomes you to join us as we celebrate Matariki together on our beautiful maunga, followed by a Free Open Day introduction to Mau Rākau.

Mau Rākau is a beautiful waka for Te Reo, mātauranga, te Taiao, whakairo, and all aspects of Te Ao Māori. Whether you are returning or stepping into this space for the very first time, come along and share in some whakawhanaungatanga at its best.

WHEN: Saturday, 11th July 2026
TIME: 4:00 AM
LOCATION: Meet at Riesenweber Park in Jacobs Well, and then proceed up to our maunga together as one whānau. Our day will continue together after Hautapu.

This is a free community event.
Open to all ages: Everyone is welcome (our current roopu ranges from 10 to 60+ years old).
KAI: Breakfast and lunch are provided, but please bring a light plate for morning tea to share.

For Te Manawa Ora to truly thrive in Te Ao Māori, our reo is an essential part of the journey. It is the life force that connects us to our ancestors and anchors us in who we are.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Hiwa te Moemoeā guiding our whānau—especially those who may have lost their connection to the language, or perhaps haven't yet had the experience of walking in this space. Through this continuous support, our whānau is growing strong, proud, and deeply rooted in our culture, ensuring our traditions stay vibrant for the generations to come.

Te Manawa Ora: Two Branches, One Heart

Te Manawa Ora continues to grow, strengthening our people through discipline, connection, and the pursuit of excellence. We operate across two dedicated training locations, ensuring our reach extends to every corner of our community.
To the south, we have the Matua branch, the foundation of our movement. To the north, our Teina roopu, Tu Whitia Te Hopo. Whether you are in the north or the south, the purpose remains the same.
