Year 3 writers have been busy boosting their storytelling skills!

Students selected an inspiring picture and used it as the starting point for creating their own imaginative stories. After sharing their writing, they received personalised feedback from their teacher on ways to 'boost' their work by adding more detail, stronger vocabulary, and engaging descriptions.

Through the writing process, our budding authors learned how feedback helps writers improve and grow, turning great ideas into even more powerful stories. We are so proud of the creativity, effort and enthusiasm shown by our Year 3 students!

Year 4 students have been having a wonderful time exploring the power of words in their latest writing activity!

Using dictionaries to discover exciting new vocabulary, students challenged themselves to create powerful "super sentences."

Through this activity, students expanded their vocabulary, strengthened their sentence-writing skills, and built confidence as young writers, all while having lots of fun.

πŸ‘ Well done, Year 4! We can't wait to see what amazing stories and sentences you create next.

πŸ“Š Young Data Detectives at Work! πŸ“Š

What is the most popular fruit? Favourite sport? Best pet? Our Year 2 students became real-life data collectors as they investigated questions that mattered to them!

Students worked together to create appropriate survey questions, gather responses from their classmates, and record their findings using tally marks. They then took their learning one step further by using digital technology to organise their data and create graphs in Microsoft Excel.

By analysing and representing their results, students developed valuable mathematical and digital skills while discovering how data can help us make sense of information. It was fantastic to see them confidently using technology to bring their findings to life!

πŸŽ‰ 100 Days of Prep! πŸŽ‰

What an exciting milestone to celebrate... 100 days of Prep! πŸ’―

Our Prep students marked this special day with lots of fun, laughter, and learning as they celebrated 100 days of Prep! Throughout the day, students took part in a range of creative activities, showcasing just how much they have grown and learned since starting school.

A highlight of the celebration was seeing everyone dressed up as if they were 100 years old. The costumes were amazing and brought plenty of smiles to the day!

We are so proud of our Prep students and all they have achieved during their first 100 days at school. They have embraced every opportunity to learn, make new friends, and become valued members of our Mother Teresa community.

Well done, Prep! Here's to many more days of learning, growth, and adventure ahead! πŸ’™

🦈 Diving into Information Reports in Year 2! 🦈

Our Year 2 students have begun their informative writing journey by unpacking an information report about sharks!

As curious readers and writers, they explored the different text features that help us locate and understand information quickly.

Students identified headings, subheadings, labels, dot points and images, discussing how each feature supports the reader. They were excited to discover fascinating facts about sharks while building their understanding of how information reports are organised and presented.

We can't wait to see our young authors use these features as they begin creating their own information reports this term! 🌊🦈✏️
