BOOK PARADE INFORMATION - 9:15AM, FRIDAY 21 AUGUST

Parents and carers please find here the map that was emailed to families for tomorrow's Book Parade. A friendly reminder to please stand on the lefthand side of the walkways as indicated in red. The students will be parading in their year level cohorts on the righthand side of the walkways as indicated on the map. The Administration Team and Prep students will start the parade.

Please clap and cheer the students on as they parade in their costumes.

Another fantastic result for our talented chess players! ♟️

The NVSS Chess Team showcased outstanding teamwork and determination, with all 11 students competing brilliantly throughout the competition.

Highlights included:
⭐ 1st Place Team in Division D
⭐ 3rd Place Individual in Division B
⭐ Merit Certificates

Congratulations to all our chess students for their fantastic efforts and achievements. We are so proud of the way you represented our school both on and off the board!

A special thank you to Miss Stewart, Ms Edwards and Mr Mowles for supporting the students on the day and for their coaching and encouragement throughout the term and at these special event days.

We are particularly appreciative of the time Mr Mowles and Mrs Phair give to the program on a voluntary basis - THANK YOU!

As a parent, sometimes it feels like a tug of war as you try to decide whether you should push your child to challenge themselves, or give in because you don’t want them to feel uncomfortable…

But what if the goal isn't to make children less scared?

Sometimes children need us to pause, listen and simply stay beside them while they process the feeling - before helping them take one small step forward.

📩 Check your email for some practical ideas about supporting children through new and scary experiences, without pushing too hard or rescuing too quickly.

📚🎭 Book Parade Tomorrow! 🎭📚

We can't wait to welcome families to our Book Character Parade tomorrow at 9:15am! An email with a map of where the parade will be held has been emailed to all families.

Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character. Please ensure costumes are sun-safe, include covered footwear, and remember:

🚫 NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE PERMITTED, including toy swords, guns, wands, bows and arrows, or any costume accessories that could be considered a weapon.

📖 Don't forget to visit our Book Fair, open from 8:15am to 10:50am in the Library.
