On Tuesday, we had the privilege of celebrating some of our outstanding Eagles at the Principalโs Honours Breakfast.
The breakfast recognised students who achieved straight A results, acknowledging not only their academic success but the dedication that helped them get there.
Academic excellence doesn't happen by chance. It takes consistent effort, a willingness to learn and the determination to keep striving for your best.
Congratulations to all of our Straight A students, your achievement is something to celebrate!
A special thank you to our P&C and Bendigo Bank for supporting our students and helping us celebrate their achievements. Your ongoing support makes a real difference to our school community.
Celebrating Excellence in the Woods.

A quick reminder to our families to please take a few minutes to complete the 2026 School Opinion Survey.
We genuinely want to hear what you think - the good, the not-so-good and everything in between. Your feedback helps us understand what's working well and, just as importantly, where we can improve.
If we don't know, we can't help. Your feedback gives us the opportunity to listen, learn and make positive changes for our students and school community.

Meet Ms Louise Ferguson
Today, we're getting to know Deputy Principal โ Curriculum, Ms Louise Ferguson, who has been part of the Ormeau Woods community for the past seven years.
With 16 years in education and a background in English, Louise is passionate about the role education plays in shaping the future.
For Louise, one of the most rewarding parts of education is being part of a profession that helps shape future generations. From building positive relationships with students and their families to watching young people grow in confidence and achieve both academically and personally.

When she's not at school, Louise enjoys putting her brain to the test with a good board game, puzzle or word challenge. In fact, she regularly takes on the NYT Wordle and Connections. So, if you're looking for a challenge, you might want to think twice before taking her on!
After seven years in the Woods, Louise continues to play an important role in shaping our curriculum and supporting opportunities that help our students learn, grow and achieve.
We're lucky to have passionate educators like Louise helping our Eagles make the most of their journey through the Woods.
That's The Woods Way.

Did you know you don't necessarily have to wait until you finish Year 12 to experience university?
For students considering university after school, studying a university subject while still at school can be a great way to get a head start.
It can give students the opportunity to:
โข Earn university course credit before graduating
โข Explore a potential career pathway while still at school
โข Experience university and campus life firsthand
โข Get a head start on higher education while completing senior studies
โข Potentially reduce the cost of future study
It's a great opportunity to explore what's possible, build confidence and start thinking about life beyond the Woods, before you even finish Year 12.
If university is part of your future plans, why not start exploring your options now?
Your future starts before graduation.

What a week it has been in the Woods!
Each day, a different year level has been celebrated as part of our PB4L Eagle Points program, with students enjoying a Principalโs BBQ personally cooked by Dr Hassard as a well-earned reward for demonstrating Positive Behaviour for Learning and making great choices.
It has been fantastic to see our students recognised for the positive behaviours, effort and contributions they make to our school community.
And tomorrow, we turn the spotlight to the people who help make that recognition possible - our staff.
Our staff play such an important role in noticing, encouraging and celebrating the positive choices our students make every day. Their encouragement helps our Eagles see that their actions matter and that positive behaviour deserves to be recognised.
A special thank you to Dr Hassard for firing up the BBQ each day and supporting our Eagles.
Celebrating success. Recognising positive choices. Living The Woods Way.

What an achievement for our Year 7 Eagle Jesse, who has helped the South Coast team become State Champions!
The team went through the entire tournament undefeated, producing an outstanding performance across four days of competition.
Jesse played primarily on the wing, with a stint at striker, and gave everything he had throughout the tournament. His determination was on full display as he battled hard for his team across every game.
Jesse is also a member of our Academy of Football, where he continues to develop his skills in a high-performance football environment alongside other passionate young players.
Congratulations, Jesse! Becoming a State Champion is an incredible achievement, and we are incredibly proud to see you representing South Coast and Ormeau Woods with pride.
A fantastic result and a well-deserved reward for all the hard work that goes into developing as a player.

Meet Deputy Principal Andrew Jenner
This week, we're getting to know one of the leaders helping our senior students navigate their journey through the Woods, Deputy Principal โ Senior School, Mr Andrew Jenner.
With 15 years in education and 4ยฝ years at Ormeau Woods, Andrew brings a broad teaching background and plenty of experience across the school years. While his original Bachelor of Education was majoring in English and Drama, he considers himself more a Maths and Drama teacher.
For Andrew, one of the most rewarding parts of education is those moments when everything suddenly clicks.
When he's not at school, there's certainly no shortage of activity! Andrew coaches both of his boys' AFL teams, keeping him busy outside of school. When the footy season winds down, you'll most likely find him making the most of the great outdoors, running, swimming, hiking, camping or spending time at the beach.
One of the things we love most about Andrew is his connection to our local community. As an Ormeau local, he is proud to be part of the school and loves hearing the positive conversations about Ormeau Woods throughout the community.
And we think that's a pretty great endorsement!
We're proud to have Andrew as part of our leadership team, helping guide our senior students and supporting them as they prepare for their next steps beyond school.
