🌟 TA APPRECIATION WEEK 🌟

This week, we’re celebrating some very special people in our school community — our incredible Teacher Assistants! ❤️

Our TAs are so much more than an extra pair of hands in the classroom. They are encouragers, listeners, problem-solvers, cheerleaders, learning partners, and often the person who knows exactly when a student needs a little extra support, a smile or a helping hand.

They help our students believe in themselves, celebrate their successes, navigate their challenges and, most importantly, feel that they belong. 💛

Their care, patience, humour and dedication make such a difference to our students and to our whole school.

We asked our students what is special about our TAs… and we think they say it best! 🥰

🧚‍♀️🌿 FAIRY & ELF DRESS UP DAY 🧝‍♂️✨

Get ready to sprinkle a little magic around our school! We invite everyone to come dressed as a fairy, elf, or any enchanted forest character on Tuesday.

We can't wait to see all the creative costumes, sparkling wings, and magical smiles. 🍄✨

A quick note for families... Please do not feel the need to purchase something for this event. The classes have been busy making costumes, so there will be something for everyone! Anything extra from home is a bonus!!

🪘Drumming up African Culture Performance🪘

On Wednesday morning our students had a wonderful interactive time with Sam, learning about the Ashanti people of Ghana in West Africa. His stories told through music, drumming and songs all deliver messages of “co-operating can solve problems”, “learning is important and fun” and “we all have similar needs and fears”.

A big thank you to Sam for sharing his Culture with our School. 🪘

Three of our girls have been busy behind the scenes rehearsing a very special song and dance — and they’ve decided there’s no better stage than our very own Fairy Garden! 🌿🧚‍♀️

Dressed in their fairy finest, they’re bringing a little magic, music and imagination to the garden we’re dreaming of transforming if we are lucky enough to win the $10,000 7hofm School of the Year prize! 💙✨🧚‍♀️🎶

🍩💙 DONUTS WITH DAD! 💙🍩

What a wonderful morning at Orford Primary School! 🥰

Our school was filled with big smiles, yummy donuts and even bigger cuddles as our students enjoyed a very special morning with their dads, pops, grandads, father figures and special people.

There was plenty of chatting, laughing, coffee drinking and, of course… donut eating! 🍩☕😋

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so special and of course to our wonderful School Association for organising such a fun event. We loved seeing our school community come together and sharing these precious moments with our students. 💙

Our artists have been busy creating some very colourful Eastern Rosellas in Art! 🌈✨

Students have been exploring colour, contrast and colour mixing, before carefully looking at the unique features and patterns of the Eastern Rosella to bring their artworks to life.

We absolutely love seeing their creativity shine through! ❤️💙💛💚

📚✨ SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING! ✨📚
There’s nothing quite like the excitement of a new book… and we have some incredible books, activities and fun little extras coming to Orford Primary School! 💙📖
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the school library from Monday 7 September to Friday 11 September.
📚 Opening Times:
🌅 Before school: 8.30am – 9.00am
🌈 After school: 2.45pm – 3.15pm
Students will also have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the week with their class teacher.
There are SO many wonderful things to discover — books, fun pens, colourful erasers, posters, activities and plenty of other goodies! 🤩
Don’t miss out! Come along, have a browse and find your next favourite read. 💙📚

✨ A little behind-the-scenes update from Orford Primary School… ✨

While you’ve been busy voting, we’ve been getting creative! 💙

There’s been a LOT happening behind the scenes as we throw ourselves into the 7hofm School of the Year fun…

🏀 Students have been getting creative on the basketball court — quite literally becoming the letters 7HOFM!

🧚‍♀️ Fairy wings, magical costumes and a whole lot of imagination are being prepared for our upcoming Fairies & Magical Creatures Dress Day.

🍞✨ Our Senior Class have even been making (and, very importantly, eating!) fairy bread as they manifest our magical fairy bread garden dreams! Because every good idea starts with a little imagination… and plenty of sprinkles!

☕️ Our amazing local community has been getting behind us too — including a visit with the lovely ladies at Orford Riverside Cafe, and even a few locals getting their morning coffee and their vote in! 😉

It really has been a whole-community effort, and we are absolutely loving seeing the creativity, excitement and support growing around our little school.
