We left a 1,000-piece puzzle lying around in the R Block Gallery… students from Grade 5 upwards have been quietly chipping away at it ever since.

Today, these two placed the final two available pieces—bringing the completed total to an impressive 997. 🧩

The remaining three pieces are still at large. Investigations continue. 🔍😄

State Cross Country 🏃‍♀️

This was the view plenty of the field got at the State Cross Country Championships!

Our two competitors produced outstanding runs, Lara finishing 13th and Jemma 34th out of 100 in their respective age groups.

A brilliant achievement at state level — and a lot of runners spent the day chasing an Orbost jersey. 💙🩵

Grade 3/4 Camp Adventures 🌿

Our Grade 3/4 students have been making the most of camp, taking on new challenges, trying new activities and supporting each other along the way.

There have been plenty of brave moments, big smiles and great teamwork — including a little mid-air encouragement on the flying fox!

A fantastic experience and lots of wonderful memories being made. 💙🩵

War Horse Trenches 🐴📚

Inspired by the novel War Horse, our Grade 5/6 students recreated the trenches of The Somme in the school grounds.

Using mud, sticks, miniatures and plenty of imagination, they brought the setting of the story to life and explored what trench warfare may have looked and felt like.

A wonderfully creative, hands-on way to connect literature, history and empathy. Well done Grade 5/6!👏

Super Mario Lunchtime Dress-Up Day 🍄🏁

Our Super Mario dress-up lunchtime was a huge hit!

A big thank you to our Year 11 students, who designed and built the fantastic cardboard karts, before students dressed up and took to the track for some fun racing.

It was so popular that we ran out of time — so this might just need to become an annual OCC event! 💙🩵

Girls' Footy Scratch Match 🏉

Our girls’ footy team had a great time taking on Bairnsdale in a scratch match.

We're deliberately leaving the scoreboard out of this one, because the best part of the day was seeing the girls get out there, have a run, enjoy the game and play together as a team.

There was plenty of effort, encouragement and laughter, and it was fantastic to see the group supporting each other and making the most of the opportunity.

Thanks to Bairnsdale Secondary College for the game, and well done to all of our students for representing OCC so positively. 💙🩵
