James Sheahan Catholic High
Semper Paratus Welcome to our official page of James Sheahan Catholic High School. A hope filled place.
Located in Orange NSW our students experience a community that looks to the future with hope. Our time at James Sheahan gives us the skills and confidence to challenge ourselves and those around us to be the people that God dreams us to be. As John Baptist De La Salle, one of our patrons, said, 'Be assured that the more you devote yourself to prayer, the more you will also do well in your work.' J

Bill Turner Cup Football
Congratulations to our Bill Turner Cup team on an outstanding campaign. While their journey came to an end with a loss to Western Heights, the boys should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Western Heights have since progressed to the National Semi-Finals and are now one of the final four teams in Australia.
In our playoff match, Sheahan was defeated by Riverina Anglican College in a hard-fought and competitive contest. Despite the result, the team represented the school with determination, sportsmanship and pride throughout the competition.
Reaching this stage of a national tournament is a significant accomplishment and reflects the commitment, teamwork and resilience shown by all players and coaching staff. Congratulations to everyone involved.
A special thank you to Geoff, who assisted with transport to cooking delicious bacon and egg burgers for breakfast, His contribution helped make the experience even more enjoyable for the boys. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Year 9 Encounter Morning
Students in Year 9 recently visited St Mary's Church for an Encounter Morning. These mornings provide an important opportunity for students to attend the Sacrament of Reconciliation, talk to one of our priests, or ask for blessing. After hearing from the Gospel of Luke and listening to Fr Duong break open the Gospel message, students were invited to reflect on their lives, reach out to God in prayer and encounter Jesus in adoration.

Feast of the Assumption 'Combined Schools' Mass
Last week, students and staff from the five Catholic schools in the Orange Parish came together for a special Feast of the Assumption Mass. This feast day acknowledges the Catholic belief that Mary 'having completed her earthly journey, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory'. The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity to welcome our new Parish Priest, Fr D**g, into our extended school community. It was very special to have students in Years 3-6 from Catherine McAuley Catholic Primary School, St Mary's Catholic Primary School, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Molong and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Manildra join us for this celebration.
