Take a look at how Shelby used her love for books, pets, and conventions to create an incredible collection of masks. Let her journey inspire you to grab some supplies, trust your imagination, and start creating your own masterpiece! ๐จ๐๏ธ
Well done Shelby for such a great job ๐๐
โญ๏ธ Shelby's Mask Collection โญ๏ธ
Mask 1 was my first ever mask. It is a wolf alien. It took 1 hour to make it. You need small fluff, big fluff, and a base.
Mask 2 took 1 hour to make. It is an alien cat. You need fur and big fluff for the ears.
Mask 3 took 30 minutes to paint with different colours. It is a rainbow cat. It was difficult to paint because of the material it was made with.
Mask 4 took 2 days to paint. It was made for the easter parade. This easter bunny has flowers, ribbons, and bling.
Mask 5 is a domesticated house cat. It took 2 hours to felt and paint. It is based of one of my old cats, Milly.
Mask 6 is the mask I wore for ComicCon. It is a forest cat. This mask took 2 days to felt and put fluff.
Mask 7 is a ginger cat that is based off a book called "Warrior Cats," but the patterns are based off of my ginger cat, Loki. It took 2 hours to paint and felt.
Lastly, mask 8 is based off the third book in the Warrior Cat series. It is a wild cat called Tiger Star. It took 3 hours to felt and fluff.
I made these masks for fun and for dress-up. Mask 6, the forest cat, was really special to me because I wore it to my first ever ComicCon. I am currently making a new mask, and it is a black and white music cat. At the moment it is my favorite. It will have purple eyes and I am very excited to finish it. It has been one of the most difficult ones to make.

This is Shelby, Year 6 and she shares a news today about her craft. ๐ฅฐ
โThere are many different types of bracelet cuffs, from simple cuffs to wider statement cuffs and other styles. When choosing materials, avoid plastic cord because it can become brittle over time and dry rot. Instead, I recommend using elastic covered in fabric, as it is more durable, stretches well, and tends to last longer.
When making the bracelets, secure the ends with a small amount of hot glue to help prevent the knot from coming undone. Itโs also important to choose the right type and quality of string. If the material isnโt suitable, it may become weak, snap easily, or wear out quickly. Iโve found that poor-quality string can sometimes break halfway through a project, which can be frustrating after youโve already put in so much work.โ
Thank you for sharing Shelby. Your news is amazing ๐คฉ We are very proud of you. Well done. ๐ ๐

Received this beautiful message from a parent today and my heart is so full. ๐
Knowing that the tutoring is making a real difference and seeing our student achieve 84% in her revision test is such a rewarding feeling. Moments like this remind us that every studentโs progress, confidence, and growth truly matter.
So grateful for the trust parents give us and so proud of all the hard work their children put in. ๐โจ
Thanks to Engr. Janluke Gabriel whoโs on top of tutoring Mathematics to our high school students. ๐

๐ Study Tip: Try Interleaving.
Instead of drilling one topic until it's perfect, mix different topics or problem types in the same study session.
It feels messier and harder but that's exactly why it works. Your brain learns to recognize which strategy to use, not just repeat one pattern. โ
At JCD Tutorial Services, we help students build these smarter study habits so learning goes deeper, not just faster.

๐ Study tip: Use active recall.
Instead of re-reading your notes over and over, close the book and try to explain the concept from memory.
Can't remember? That's the point. The struggle to retrieve it is what makes the memory stick. โ
Re-reading feels productive, but it's passive. Testing yourself feels harder because it actually builds stronger connections in your brain.
At JCD Tutorial Services, we help students learn how to learn so they're not just memorizing but truly understanding.

๐ Study Tip: Spaced Repetition
Instead of cramming everything the night before, review your lessons across multiple days with increasing gaps in between. ๐
Day 1 โ Day 3 โ Day 7 โ Day 14
Each time you revisit, your brain locks it in a little deeper. It feels slower at first, but you'll remember far more come exam time. โ
At JCD Tutorial Services, we help students build study habits like this so learning becomes consistent, not stressful.
