The 2026 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day theme is Living Our Truth, honouring the power of truth-telling, the sharing of knowledge across generations and the importance of telling our stories.

This day is an opportunity to celebrate the potential, strength and pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

At Goodstart Orange-Molong Road we spent the day celebrating and sharing culture.

Our Dinawan children made Wattleseed Damper and our Maliyan children created artworks. We will continue to celebrate throughout the week.

Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.
