🐔🚜🌾 A Special Visit from a farmer! 🌾🚜🐔

Last week at Occasional Care, we were lucky to welcomed a special guest, a farmer who shared his knowledge and experiences of life on the farm with us.

The children enjoyed learning about farm animals, the tools used on the farm, and the important role farmers play in our community. The highlight of the morning was meeting Honey the chicken and seeing an egg she had laid earlier that morning! 🥚

The children were curious, engaged, and confident as they asked questions, shared their ideas, and learnt through hands-on experiences and meaningful conversations.

A big thank you to Poppy Ray for providing such a wonderful and memorable learning experience for our children. 💛🐔🚜

SUPERHERO WEEK 🦸‍♂️

It's that time of year again to get out our capes and dress up for Superhero Week, from 24th to 28th August.

This is a special event we celebrate each year while raising funds for Bear Cottage, the only children's hospice in NSW dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions.

We would love everyone to get involved by coming to Occasional Care dressed as their favourite superhero.

The children have loved spending time in the garden, digging, watering, planting, and caring for our growing plants. Through hands-on experiences, they are learning about nature, responsibility, and how things grow.

Today the children planted a Bush Tucker tree for National Tree Day.
We hope this is the beginning of our very own Bush Tucker Garden, where the children can learn about caring for and respecting the land. Through planting, watering, and watching our tree grow, the children are developing a connection with nature and learning the importance of looking after our environment.
We can't wait to watch our garden grow! 💚🌳

Over the past couple of years, McKenna has been studying while working at Occasional Care to complete her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care 🎓
We’d love to congratulate her on successfully completing her qualification – such an incredible achievement!

We had a lovely time celebrating Mother’s Day at our Garden Tea Party with children, families, and educators. It was a special morning filled with smiles, shared moments, and meaningful connections.
